I needed a jump. Thinking aaa tow truck was on its way....nope, dude in a toyota corolla smoking a cigar and dog in the car... he jumped me and left.. thats why I'm here I can jump ppl car on the side easy to get started lol
If you have to cop to another company's rules and regs (about insurance for example) or have to send them photos of your vehicle to get "approved", have to get "rated" etc, you don't own a business. A small business in the traditional sense is autonomous and can generate its own leads through its own marketing efforts, and if it decides to use outside lead sources at any point, leads are purchased from an outside lead generation aggregator and that's the limit of your interaction with that company. You don't report to them more than you report to any other vendor. Lets not muddy the waters here. Generating customers, sales, marketing is the meat and potatoes of any company. If you're not doing that, you're not an entrepreneur.
Another thing is you want to start in an area that is not overloaded with well-established towing/roadside providers. You want to be in an area that has little to no competition but has enough people living in the area to get good volume.
So I already own a mobile business how would I add this just ask my insurance provider if I meet the req insurance (I have all the tools ) do I need to create a separate business? Thank you in advance for any help.
I have a fulltime landscaping company... I'm considering starting a "Roadside Service" Company and just doing Jump Starts with a Jump Box and a Jumper Cable as a backup and Fuel delivery. My personal/work truck already has a decent light setup. I can't decide if its worth it to file a DBA for $120 and buy the necessary equipment and just drive on my own time for HONK and Urgent.ly to make some extra money. Not sure how much my Commercial Vehicle and Liability would go up on top of what I am paying now for landscaping. I see that local companies charge between $55 - 65 for starts and fuel deliveries so it seems like a very easy way to make more money to me. Thanks!
AAA is good. I dont know about all areas of the US though but I know some areas, AAA requires that you run calls only for AAA if you are contracting with AAA. Unfortunately I live in an area that has a AAA fleet so they do not take sub contractors.
Hey rob , can you give an example of a paid call from an insurance company and a retail call on your own. How much can you charge a customer on average? Can you do a video on pricing? 👍
Real Straight Truth Broadcast ok when it comes to pricing it varies a lot and by that I mean it depends on the type of call. When it comes to insurance calls you can charge whatever you want however if your pricing is not competitive you won’t get many calls. They will suggest a rate to you however and you can choose to accept or decline the offer. I find that upselling is the way to go. By that I mean if you get a jump their a opportunity to sell a battery. If you get a t/c there’s a opportunity to fix a tire etc so basically you can turn a not so good paying call into a good paying call. U get what I’m saying? As for retail you try to be competitive. See what other service providers are charging in your area. And try to be a little less. For that u can google prices. Prices differ in different areas and states. I hope this info was helpful. Have a good day
Hi if anyone has a suggestions I'm having trouble finding ANY insurance that will write a Roadside Assistance General Liability Policy. Ive got everything I need to start EXCEPT GL. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Listen everyone I’ve been looking for how to get the contract and all RU-vidrs never ever tell you how to make money in real life so what I did was call around and got a couple of emails to register that’s the best way Thanks for the video it still explains a little but better then other vids
When your doing the light roadside no towing just lockouts, tire change, battery change and fluids. Do you need to have the big commercial insurance policies ?
The auto clubs you contract with will tell you what they require you to have since they will be certificate holders. Commercial liability and commercial auto are basically all you need unless you tow. I carry three million dollars in coverage and it only costs me 87 a month. If you decide to tow and have a storage lot you'll need to add on garage keeper and on-hook.
@@rakkasan-to4vq Hey Willy Stanker. I was wondering what insurance you have your commercial liabilty and commercial auto insurance with? I have callled many companies and most won't/don't insure roadside assitance business.
@@choppedscrewedcustomz5297 I have some third party company through Geico. I had one company once but then they realized they weren't supposed to insure roadside companies so they didn't allow me to renew when the time came. I think I have homelite for commercial liability. I don't remember because I pay them through Geico.
Im in Northern New Jersey and ive been all over the net.. No one will return my call for insurance. I have no violations and only one accident where someone rear-ended me. Progressive will do it but only commercial auto and they want $6000 for the year!
for volume or money? The downside to the roadside business is the car clubs and insurance companies pay low rates because they go on volume, while some guys really dont get much volume. If you are looking to get rich it will take you a long time. You have to be in an area for a while and maintain a high call acceptance rating or you'll never make it as a primary provider. You will ALWAYS start out as a secondary unless its a club with no other providers in your area. That means all your calls starting out will be what other providers already turned down or weren't able to successfully finish. Some areas are so saturated with companies you will need to contract with twenty or more clubs and insurance companies just to feed yourself. And that's hard to do because you will find out that most of the clubs and insurance go through the same dispatch company so if you are with a big dispatch and aren't getting many calls, you probably wont get much more for a long time.
@@rakkasan-to4vq exactly. Some guys get lucky and a primary company goes out of biz due to a retirement of an owner or something...but otherwise, you may be better off doing your own thing
I noticed you’re on 95 in Connecticut. I’m from Connecticut also I have questions on starting a roadside assistance company. Where would I be able to reach you
The Roadside Driver thank you. I was thinking about being a sole proprietor as a business right now I’m working with Allstate as roadside rescuer app but I’d like to do more and become an actual business to work with more insurance companies. But my question is what do you do for health insurance?
Nomuff2tuff ok unfortunately you would have to get your own health coverage. My recommendations would be after you set up is HUSKY OR UNITED HEALTHCARE. they will require an estimate of what you think you would make but nowadays to be honest. Health insurance is very affordable. I personally get health insurance through my wife but I use to use UNITED HEALTHCARE
@@rakkasan-to4vq you are correct but I believe that is mainly with Lockout tools that go inside of the car door an air bag and long reach which is needed for most cars are not forbidden to those with a blemished past
Check it out. Not everyone can do this. It's cool and awesome that you can. I just don't think you should be telling people.. How much competition do you need? Yo can make allot of money, Or you can share it all with allot of people. It's really your choice. Save your life, it's your business, don't give it away. :-) HPC
He’s being smart. He didn’t go to a $100,000 college to learn this is was taught personally. RU-vid is not just for his area, it’s for the whole country ... so I doubt this will create actual competition for him. If anything, people will reach out to him offering payment for personalized coaching for their own start up business. Maybe he’ll even find people outside of his area to employ under his business name. It’s called giving back. America’s founders did it. Billionaires now all do it. Knowledge has value too. How do you expect to receive more blessings if you hog them all to yourself? Just food for thought.
You can tell everyone how to make money doing exactly what you're doing and it won't create a problem with competition. Not to worry. There are entire book series, websites, training courses, literature, you name it on how to start, run, market a business, in any category. Literally millions of pages filled with information that can make you money. The reason the markets are rarely saturated is that most people, 99%+ either A. Are not willing to take a risk in quitting their day job to pursue a new business. B. Have people in their life, i.e. spouse, friends, family, parents that nay say the idea and create enough fear and doubt to make the idea disappear C. Don't have enough capital to get it started witg equipment, marketing, etc. D. Don't have a creative mind and critical thinking skills , which is a requirement of successful entrepreneurship. and/or E. Are just too lazy to do the added work starting a business brings. It's not a 40 hour a week gig. If you aren't eating breathing and sleeping your business and don't have a laser focus on your goals for the day, week, month, year, 5 year, you will NOT make it. You won't gain even a point of market share in your vertical, you'll burn out and quit. I've seen it too many times. If you're not IN with both feet 100% you are promised to fail.
