In this video, I cover how I go about attaching the front grill to the 1989 through 1995 Toyota Pickup truck, because the wire tie life you save today may be your own.
** INSTALLATION NOTES **
As mentioned in the video, cutting down the plastic tabs to the correct height is super important. You wanna leave about 1mm to 1.25mm (max) of plastic on those ears; it's better to err on the side of too little than too much. If you go much over 2mm in height, you can quickly end up with a situation where things tighten down, but your grill will still rattle around a little bit. It's much better to have a bit too little than too much in this area; all you really need is about 1mm of lip. Also, for the two top outer locations, the access can be pretty tight as far as getting the 4mm hex key into the M6 button head bolt (to keep it from turning during installation). One thing you can do is take a 3/16 size drill and punch a hole directly through the front of the grill (just above the grill, where there is a slight seam in the plastic); this will allow you to slide a long allen key in straight towards the M6 button cap screw; adding this hole will help a lot as far as installing things (a stubby 90 degree allen wrench will also work, but it's a tight fit due to the headlight bucket being right there). Also, those same two outer mounting points have sort of a double sheet metal hole on the backside of the body, so be careful about situating the washer/nut on the back side. Also worth noting: when drilling out the plastic brackets using the 1/4" drill, be careful not to accidentally angle the drill too much as you go; this can poke the hole out the other side down a bit too low if you aren't careful. You want to drill plumb through the plastic square factory hole as much as possible and avoid any angle to the mounting hole (this will also serve to keep the mounting hole centered). When looking at the factory hole in the plastic grill (where Toyota's clip secures), it looks like two little squares on top of each other; drill more through the larger of the two squares.
