People give savage a bad name,I live in where he was born kinda in gwersyllt he came there once and got chinned in the wheatchief pub,but I met Robbie in Wrexham and he gave me £20 for food when I was on my arse,I've got my own house and a beautiful family now,I'm forever grateful to this man
I WATCHED LEIGHTON JAMES AT QPR WHEN I WAS 12 YEARS OLD ,,HE PLAYED DOWN THE LEFT WING THEN ,JUST WANT TO SAY I WAS AMAZED AT HIS ABILITY AND SPEED WHAT A GREAT PLAYER HE WAS ,GREAT MEMORIES ,THAT IS WHERE I PLAYED LEFT WING BECAUSE OF HIM ,THANKS LEIGHTON GREAT DAYS .
He gets a lot of stick for sure. Can be a bit funny sometimes but I feel like he's done a good job with his career and the Leighton sounds like a bitter old man who has a grudge. Look how easily he flipped when his presenter said he'd have Robbie in the team.
Toshack knew Savage and the like were ordinary rubbish. He looked to the future with Bale, Ramsey, Allen etc. Leighton James was 10 times the player Savage was
I knew Taffy had been a lollipop man. Is he still? He earned more than 100 GBP per week when he was at Burnley in his first spell. He really was a sublime player. Fast, totally two-footed and a scorer of spectacular goals. EDIT: he's precisely what the current Burnley side lack.
False modesty. If you haven't heard of him, you must be young. You probably haven't heard of Martin Dobson or Frank Casper, either. I can assure you James was regarded as one of the best wingers in Europe in the 70s. When he left Burnley the first time, he was Derby County's player of the season. They'd been English champions the year before. Have a look on RU-vid. There's footage of him ripping England apart in 1979. Just out of interest, have you heard of Dave Thomas? He was another brilliant Burnley winger of the 70s, although he left Turf Moor far too early.
Why would any manager want a player that retired because he was dropped? Savage has gone on to do everything he said he wouldn’t 🤣 We even have to listen to Savage on Champions league games, like he’s voice us worthy on such levels of football haha
I know James has recently passed away but nevertheless he comes across here as a rather bitter and aggressive man who could start an argument in an empty room. Far be it from me to side with Robbie Savage but I remember LJ in his Burnley days in the mid 70's. He was one of those players who loved to 'get under an opponent's skin' at the first opportunity and I took an instant dislike to the man back then. It seems like he still went out of his way to rub people up the wrong way if this unpleasant confrontation is anything to go by.
So if Robbie Savage begs and pleads to play for the welsh football team and succeed’s.What happens to poor Blackburn rovers who do they replace him with.Shame on you Mr Savage 😡
Robbie Savage resigned from international football. He then says he would "do anything" to get back into the team. He clearly would not do _anything_ that accorded any respect to the manager of the team. He was, and is, a cheerful tosser.
Leighton james a lazy overated player back in the day ? Always had him down has he thought he was a rodney marsh, frank worthington, stan bowls ect ?? Nah not having it lol
