My brother loved you so much… he is died now…. I am her sister, but listened your song Robbie from 17 when you are was in Take That!!! I still love your songs ❤
This song is amazing - Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers were dynamite together. Also, pure genius to have Neil Tennant and Neil Hannon on backing vocals. Just class.
[Verse 1] Tell me a story Where we all change And we'd live our lives together And not enstranged [Pre-Chorus] I didn't lose my mind it was Mine to give away Couldn't stay to watch me cry You didn't have the time So I softly slip away... [Chorus] No regrets they don't work No regrets they only hurt Sing me a love song Drop me a line Suppose it's just a point of view But they tell me I'm doing fine [Verse 2] I know from the outside We looked good for each other Felt things were going wrong When you didn't like my mother Ad [Pre-Chorus] I don't want to hate but that's All you've left me with A bitter aftertaste and a fantasy of How we all could live [Chorus] No regrets they don't work No regrets they only hurt (We've been told you stay up late) I know they're still talking (You're far too short to carry weight) The demons in your head (Return the videos they're late) If I could just stop hating you (Goodbye) I'd feel sorry for us instead [Bridge] Remember the photographs (insane) The ones where we all laugh (so lame) We were having the time of our lives Well thank you it was a real blast [Chorus] No regrets they don't work No regrets they only hurt Write me a love song Drop me a line Suppose it's just a point of view But they tell me I'm doing fine [Outro] Everything I wanted to be Every time I walked away Everytime you told me to leave I just wanted to stay Every time you looked at me and Everytime you smiled I felt so vacant you treat me like a child I loved the way we used to laugh I loved the way we used to smile Often I sit down and think of you for a while Then it passes me by and I think of someone else instead I guess the love we once had is Officially dead
I was 12 when I’ve heard this song for the first time 😅. But I can say that especially today, there is almost no more such soulful music. This song is definitely legendary 🤘
Who would have imagined Robbie breaking free from Take That ... and then releasing this absolute critical belter of a classic. Robbie's first step to greatness.
This is one of my (if not the) favorite Robbie Williams song, I don't understand why it did not chart better. The backing vocals are also fantastic. When I was a kid, I thought "That background singer has a voice like the frontman of Pet Shop Boys" I just learned this year that it IS actually him.
Absolutely obsessed with this song! Especially after watching the docu. God! This man built a true legacy that very few would even dare to achieve... Robbie, love you even more.
I agree, this is my favourite Robbie song and in my mind I could see this played over a Bond title sequence. The new Bond theme is fine (but you can’t hum along to it, so it’s unmemorable) Eilish is a competent singer, and hey at least they didn’t use Sheeran!
I see what you mean but seeing that a bond theme is usually has the same title as the film can’t see it working. No one going to see a bond film called no regrets
This is one of his most under rated songs. There are some people here saying this was their sad, break up song or it helped them at a certain time in life. Also remember that around this time, Robbie was fighting big demons himself, especially ones of self worth.
Best Robbie song for me. Here 23 years later in 2021...What a gorgeous time it was to be 14 in 1998. Beautiful times. Watched this over and over on mtv. Always chilling at the end.... boom
This song has helped me various times dealing with narcissistic people including my brother "If I could just stop hating you, and feel sorry for us instead" ❤
Honestly this has got to be the most personal song Robbie has ever done and that is probably the underlying strenght to it. It's a real shame this gem is so often overlooked, I find it one of the best he has ever created and is no small matter for an artist who made a ton of incredible music.
Robbie helped me to express my anger from the past in his words through this song. It's amazing the impact that he has had on my mental health. I love all of his songs. His songs mean a lot to me, and listening to him is really good for my mental health.
This song saved my life. I was going thru a nasty breakup from a best friend about 20 years ago. I was sad and angry and once I listened to this song it put words on my emotions. 😢This was excactly how I felt at the time. This song helped me thru. Thanks Rob❤
Yeah people forget that you can break up from a friend. Best friends can ditch you just like a partner. It's a strange feeling because it's not as acceptable to greave this kind of loss, but it hurts the same. Feelings of betrayal etc...
It is a long time ago now, Luxury Lady. Spot on. Maybe his best due to it being a little enigmatic. Some might say this is a rock ballad in the top drawer. What a range he had (or has).
@@Orion74205 self pity is often demonized through ignorance ..but its a necessary emotion and AIDS recovery...so anyone grieving/heartbroken or depressed, etc for whatever reason they're strong on the"self pity"???
Resumindo:simplesmente ROBBIE E um gênio. Compôs uma linda música, escolheu os melhores músicos para sua banda e tem a melhor voz do mundo, sem contar o 1,85 m de altura de beleza.
I used to think it was crazy , but we are being dumbed down . Choose any metric you want. It is there for all to see. On purpose? Or a systematic failure a logical progression due to natural selection being dulled ?
The year my divorcé came through from my cheating 1st wife ..this hits the nail on the head of how those 7 years were hell for me ..2 years later found my beautiful 2nd wife ..had to pinch myself everyday to make sure i wasn't dreaming ...20 years later i lost her to cancer 💔😞 ..life and love together hurts...love and miss her every minute ...😞🙏
I find it sad that he wrote this song about his manager when he was in take that and the time he had back then. The amount of sadness he must have felt when he was there is shown right here in this song, it's heartbreaking. Even so, it's still such a beautiful piece of music
It also has Neil Hannon on it, from group The Divine Comedy. You can hear him say "goodbye!" in the background and then "no regrets, they don't work..." etc.
Probably the most underrated song of all time. The beggining of the song is so sad,but at the same time so beautiful. The vídeo is pretty good to...Fantastic song by Mr Williams
I am not a fan of Robbie's music in general but I think this one is head and shoulders above his other offerings. I love the sentiment and the bitterness he barely disguises. Top song 👍
@@martinjames4600 yet your still here, and he still sells records and concert tickets 30 years plus, into his career. Not to mention that 7 years after this record. He broke the world record for the most concert tickets sold in a single day. 😂 Don’t like him there’s plenty of other artist to listen too. RU-vid has a search bar 🙄
@@Alienzod It also has a comments section. Nowwhere does it say it is an "Agreeing" section. As far as I am aware I am perfectly entitled to say what I wish. Funniest thing is where you call him an "artist" HAH! Like the man said, he was the fat dancer from Take That
I watch this video with sadness knowing what trauma he was going through. I wish he had of had better support around him. I am so glad he was able to grow strong and survive that industry.
This song is everything and his eyes are just so deep, emotive and beautiful 💖For you astrology nerds out there like me, he's an ♒ aquarian with a Scorpio moon and this song really embodies the dark and intense emotions of a scorpio moon because that love runs so deep, but when it ends it feels like hate, but love and hate are both connected so it's still love... If you hate them then you still love them 😉 I'm a moon/pluto girl so I can relate to these dark intense emotions too which is probably why I was always drawn to Robbie and his music 🎶.
I was 21 when this was released. It was amazing then and it’s aged brilliantly - it’s so well produced and the vocals by Neil Tennant and Niall Hannon only make it better. The video is effing brilliant too 👍🏻
His best song in my opinion. The ultimate moving on track. Still a weepy, but thats what helps us move on. Neil Tennant and Neil Hannon also chipping in add class to an already cracking tune. Opening hook is solid 10 out of 10
I am only 16 years old but I love this song so much mainly because the lyrics to this song are so powerful, meaningful and conflicting emotions can be felt. I never get bored of listening to this song, I was born in the same year as this song was released in 1998 :)
"I don't want to hate but it's all you've left me with. A bitter aftertaste and a fantasy of how we all could live" These lines must be the best lyrics I've ever heard
I ALWAYS SAY IT, THE BRITISHES LAUNCH THE LAW ABOUT POP MUSIC, WITHOUT OFFENSE TO SOME, THEY ARE THE BEST, ROBBIE IS VALID AND COMPETENT TO MAKE SONGS, VERY GOOD SINGER, GREETINGS FROM ITALY ✋🇮🇹✋
