Met him once in New York. Had a brief chat. I told him what a great voice he had. He was quiet and a little shy. So happy to have found this. He was truly a great singer -- perfect for Lerner and Lowe.

All of Brigadoon’s songs from this production equate the beauty and joy of springtime to me. Every time spring rolls around, I find that the only way I can express my happiness is to sing songs from Brigadoon, especially this one!

These two are just phenomenal. The TV specials based on Broadway shows that they are doing today can't hold a candle to Goulet's Brigadoon and Carousel. Young theatre students, take note!

Every time Robert Goulet was scheduled to appear on Scottish TV in the 60's,/ 70's I have vague recollections of my dear old mum settling down in front of the "telly" with a cup of tea and a digestive biscuit waiting for this man..Goulet to do that thing he does. From my ma and her grandkids.

It's time for a major telecast of this wonderful Armstrong Circle Theatre show from the 1960's. All three of the Robert Goulet productions are wonderful (Brigadoon, Carousel, and Kiss Me Kate). It's also time for Sony to release the terrific soundtrack albums that, when they first came out, were only available in hardware stores where they sold Armstrong products. RG is in his usual impeccable form here. I vaguely remember this from TV, when I was...younger, but I remember it as an annual, 'Hallmark Hall of Fame' production. But I wasn't paying too much attention at the time & probably had my nose in a book. (My parents controlled the TV back in the day, which is fair; Dad & his labor paid for it.) Wikipedia, that incessant purveyor of misinformation, straightened me out.

Itd be really hard to best Robert Goulet in the 66 tv special--he brought the composers' lyrics to complete fruition with his rich soaring baritone, musical intelligence/heart and virile tone--and yes, sexy presence, which adds to the complete performer. This Tommy is a full blooded man--not a cartoon character as elsewhere. I love this song and I love Bob Goulet--a singer with charisma and artistry.

Oh gosh! I have been waiting for over 30 years to see this. Maybe I will get to see the entire thing one day. When I was a teenager, the public library had the Brigadoon TV soundtrack LP in their collection. I checked it out and put it on a cassette tape so I can play it in my car. I was an aspiring actor going to a performing arts high school so I was aloud to blast Broadway musicals from my '72 Plymouth valiant. This was about '80ish or so. :)

This is the difference between professional and amateur. These are the pros, the auditioners on RU-vid are the amateurs, I'm afraid. There is no comparison. And to think, this TV movie is one of the rare records of Edward Villella in the sword dance.

I loved the Brigadoon TV special when it was on TV all those years ago -- this song in particular, but also "The Heather on the Hill." PLEASE, PLEASE add that wonderful clip if you possibly can. Much thanks to you for making these great musical scenes available to all of us.

Saw it as a child, such a joy that it’s accessible after half century. To me, Robert Goulet had the best baritone for musical theater ever. Shame he never worked with Sondheim! Would have been perfect in “Company” or “A Little Night Music”. Also sadly turned down original “La Cage”. Did the revival years later though.

Donald, you should buy the original Broadway cast recording of "The Happy Time" starring RG. That show has some exquisite songs performed by Goulet in it

One of the most underrated singers. There's a story I heard once, that Elvis shot at the TV when Robert Goulet happened to be singing on some program. The problem was he was born at a time when white folks had to be extra white.

Donald, we are almost in agreement. For me no. 1 is "There But for You Go I" , no. 2 "Heather on the Hill". The wonderful thing about Robert's "Brigadoon" is that it stayed true to the original script. I enjoyed Gene's movie, but it was more focused on the dancing, which is understandable, and there were indeed some phenomenal dance scenes, Robert's version focused more on the story and the songs. But it is wonderful to have them both for posterity.

Not only Robert Goulet but also the excellent Sally AnnHowes.Both were perfect intheir roles better thn Gene Kelly and CydCharise in the MGM movie because this musical needs singers not dancers.

Not only Robert Goulet but Sally An Fields who sings with him here are perfect,She repleaced Julie Andrews in My Fair Lady when she left and also in Chity Chity chituy Band bang hen she didnt want to make the movie.She was born in 1930 and is still alive

Okay, I will not watch it. RU-vid can be wonderful for youtube viewers like myself, who get to watch great talents, like Robert Goulet, without paying for it, but it can often be harmful to those artists and their families who get cheated out of payment for the performances. I have been a fan of his since the 1960s when, as a teenager, I bought the original cast recording of Camelot. I wish you well in your efforts to stop copyright infringement and in your life.
