I absolutely loved this man. I have never done an impression of him without stating that he was the greatest baritone to ever grace a Broadway stage. And...on top of that he was equally a great actor. And...on top of that he was more than fun to be around. I know how much Vera misses him along with everyone else whose life he touched.
A wonderful song with written by Barry Manilow using lyrics written by Johnny Mercer which were never set to music until after Mercer's death with permission from Mercer's widow. I had the good fortune to understudy Bob in Carousel on tour and that experience convinced me that there was never a finer voice in the musical theater than his.
Dear Vera, I am an Italian baritone of opera, but I also perform in a pop-romantic repertoire and I discovered the voice of Robert Goulet ... extraordinarily beautiful. His way of singing is elegant and this makes me understand that he must also be a great person because the voice also expresses what we are inside and that is our soul. Robert will keep me company in my professional career and if he could show me some of his records I would be happy. I allow myself to hug her tightly.
Robert Goulet was a role model for many baritones. My first husband was so influenced that there were glimpses of Goulet when he sang. Especially in the song, If Ever I Would Leave You. We both loved the sound of Roberts voice. His memory will be cherished by millions. Thank you Vera for sharing this beautiful memory.
Why in the world didn't this guy become more famous as a movie star?? He had it ALL!!! Gorgeous face, voice and he was really funny in the ONLY romantic comedy I ever saw him in, (Honeymoon Hotel with Nancy Kwan and Robert Morse). Absolutely beautiful!!!
MacPherson100000 Yes he did have it all... Bad and greedy management for one... and I guess it was not to be... but could have, should have changes nothing and I am glad that at least he left a wonderful legacy of recordings, TV and film so that his talent can be appreciated. By the way, he never thought that he was handsome. VG
Robert Goulet will always be my favorite male singer. He truly had it all - great looks, charm, sense of humor combined with a stunningly rich voice with unbelievable artistic delivery of most any kind of song in any genre.
Such a wonderful man with a beautiful rich voice. It broke my heart when he left us,but thank God for these recordings.May he rest in peace and know how truly missed he is.
Robert's beautiful voice caresses this lovely tune as if it were written just for him - simply wonderful! How we miss Mr. Goulet - what an extraordinary talent!
Beautifully song performed by Robert Goulet, he was from my grandparents and my parents generation, but I love the song. I listened to the way he sang this song, and wow...Mrs. Vera Goulet, What a beautiful tribute. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. I am sure you and he shared a wonderful love. I was blessed to share 25 years of my life with my husband, best friend and soulmate, Steve, he is, was and always will be the love of my life. Thank you again, I must listen to more of his music right now, a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, reminiscing the love and many years I shared with my Steve, seven wonderful children, ten beautiful grandchildren and beautiful happy memories.....
Just getting off work for the day and ran across this recording by the great voice, Robert Goulet. Just a beautiful rendition of a great song. Robert Goulet was dominant as a baritone. Many memories of listening to his music in younger days.
Ms.Vera Goulet: an amazing video, what a voice. The picture of you touching Mr. Goulet's casket is heartbreaking. The love between you two is so evident in the pictures.
This song belonged to Robert like _My Way_ was owned by Frank. _When October went_ ten years ago, it took the great Mr. Goulet with. Listening now, in mid-November I almost wish he'd done not quite such a perfect job on this, because the truth and depth of his delivery are hitting hard. Wish Johnny Mercer would have lived to hear this!
When it is October again, if only for a while, Robert is in your arms. But be of good cheer, my dear, for he has never left your heart and there he stays. Your video was most touching.
One of the most beautiful songs written and so poignantly sung by Robert Goulet. Pure Class. He is forever with you Mrs. Vera Goulet..forever. Such a touching tribute to his memory. i thank you to for your kindness to me...Loretta Holloway
Such a wonderful voice... rich in tone and expression. Mr. Goulet left a lasting legacy that those of us who admire his talent will always cherish. Thanks for sharing it through this video.
My foreign teacher in PR China is Canadian. He is older. He played this song at break time between classes. Now I see it here. The voice is so rich and beautiful. I cannot really say in English but I have never heard Western music like this before.
I am so happy to hear that. I understand what you said and I thank you. Please visit his channel. There are many other videos I think you will enjoy. Vera Goulet

Such a beautiful video and stirring rendition of this lovely song. October is a month of change, and I realize how personal this is for you. God Bless.
This is terrific. Thank you. Robert was simply the best. My favorite and also this brings memories of me coming home as a teen and my mother would be playing his wonderful records. He was her favorite! I would walk into the room and she would ask if I wanted her to turn it down or if I wanted to listen to my rock music. "No, mom, keep it playing, I love this!"
This is utterly lovely! I had no idea that the great Goulet had recorded this beautiful piece, lyrics by the great J. Mercer, music composed by the fabulous B. Manilow. Thank you ever so much for uploading this! Reminds me always that true and abiding love never dies. Bless you,Vera
+ROBERT GOULET THE MAN AND HIS LEGACY No problem, dear lady. I've loved this song ever since I first heard it in 1984 on Manilow's 2AM Paradise Cafe album{one of my favorites}. The music and the whole song is filled with such wistfulness and longing,it's almost heartbreaking. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you Vera for creating and sharing this outstanding video. It was as though Manilow wrote this song with Robert in mind, this being one of his greatest songs and performed by none better than Robert. Your outstanding video brings life to the song.
dear vera, thank you for this beautyful tribute to your unforgotten husband.he will always be in our hearts.my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very special time.
Oh my, the gorgeous scenes in the video -- beautiful -- thank you! Johnny Mercer's lyrics were incomparable, this is Barry Manilow's song, but Goulet does it well.
