Robert sings "On A Clear Day" Robert and Johnny duet "Side By Side" Adorable and funny! Two incredible, talented and classy guys. A priceless gem, that has not been seen since it first aired in 1965.
What a set of pipes! Effortless...Another, thing I loved about Robert Goulet, late in life, he did those great NCAA commercials...He was willing to poke a bit of fun at himself and bring a smile...What a performer, what a man! I miss him!
Mrs. Goulet, thank you so much for sharing this gem. I was smiling from ear to ear the entire time. I have always been such a fan of your wonderful husband. A true talent!
The hallmark of professionalism: making the difficult look easy. The simplicity which RG displayed belied the obvious amount of rehearsal he put into developing his talent. You were so lucky to have known him so well & WE are so lucky to have you share w/ us all these otherwise lost moments.
Two pro's making it look easy. Great sound from Robert with his "On A Clear Day." I believe that he and his partner Norman Rosemont produced the original Broadway production.
+rveeing He makes it look very easy, but any good singer will tell you it is most difficult to sing sitting down like that. Robert was unique in so many ways. Vera Goulet
johnny carson's humor is really timeless, and it was so obvious, he was just in awe of Robert goulet's talent and humbleness. did they know each other well? everything Robert Goulet did, he did to perfection. his amazing talent seemed to come absolutely natural to him. that cannot be said of many. almost none ,.i've personally met and known a few members of the Sinatra family, and I think frank Sinatra's musical talent was similar to Robert goulet's, but not quite so perfect. frank Sinatra jr. has had quite an unfair life, but is a beautiful person, but doesn't come across well in public interview venues...I have always wished him the best. he and I have had long conversations, when he was young, about what to do, what to do...about feelings and frustrations...a beautiful person...in the end, finally accepted by his dad, but still, working for him. off track from Robert, but side note, I guess. I, have only seen one other singer who could sing sitting down like Robert, and that was paverotti..(sp}.
Glad to know that Robert is in good company when it comes to singing sitting down. Incidentally Pavarotti stood up and gave Robert a standing ovation at the Kennedy Center Awards a few years back. Robert was very touched.
and well deserved...you are so sweet to keep answering comments and questions.....so interesting....of course he would be so proud to know you are doing this.....as always, proud of you ROBERT GOULET THE MAN AND HIS LEGACY
Dear Mrs. Vera Goulet, Thank you SO MUCH for posting these wonderful videos. I've been watching a few of them and am still in awe of his magnificent voice! I commented on one of these posts that I couldn't understand why he never became of bigger movie star in romantic comedies. Just watching him with Johnny, you can see he had a flair for comedy! His comedic talents were obvious in the one romantic comedy I saw him in, "Honeymoon Hotel". When I tell people this they are really surprised. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing these memories of your wonderful husband. They truly don't make em' like that anymore!!! (Oh by the way, I've told people about a time I saw him on either Mike Douglas or Merv Griffin, when they played a trick on him. They said they wanted him to sing to a lady in the audience. In the middle of the song, the "lady" pulls off her wig to reveal a big strapping guy. Your husband actually fell on the floor laughing, as did most of the people watching I'm sure!!! Could you please let me know what show this is and how I can find it or possibly post it here on RU-vid? Thank you so much again for all the memories!)
MacPherson100000 It is my pleasure. It makes me happy that you enjoy the videos and his channel. He is an extremely talented man and yes his comedic talent was remarkable. "He often would say I'd rather get a laugh than hit a high C". Well did both. Oh, it was the Mike Douglas show. I will upload it when I have time. VG
Another great demonstration of Goulet's talent. He and Johnny create relaxed, fresh, and witty musical magic. Carol Lawrence is a doll to not muscle in on the guys. I'm always wondering why, at this time in her career, she was always wearing her hair in that "fine lady" do.
Yeah, Robert was very special, and it is wonderful to see Robert and Johnny having so much fun. yes Carol was very sweet not to jump in, but remember you are only seeing a segment of an hour show. She makes up for it later. It was a very entertaining show. Danny Thomas joins the gang and Robert and Johnny are hilarious. I may post more segment when I have time to edit. I think Carol looks very pretty and as for up do hair that was more or less the style if girl was wearing a gown. Anyway glad that you enjoyed it. Best, Vera Goulet
Thank you so much Vera for posting. So much talent on one stage! How sweet the sound of Robert's voice. The angels must just LOVE the sound. Miss him so much. Happy happy thoughts of YOU Vera on your special day XXXooXX
Thank you for this video. I loved watching both of them. Brings back memories of good times watching great TV with my mom. They dont make them like these guys anymore..
