The camera work is unhelpful, regarding shots of the crime scene (only one room?)

I just looked up Paul Gentile Smith as someone in the comments stated the conviction has been overturned. But they were unable to find much information due to the fact he doesn’t live in this country. If you look up Paul Gentile Smith you will find the information. The issue is part political and part PROBABLE criminal and has to do with the Orange County Informant Scandal and the prosecutor. This is terrible as many convicted criminals that they could have convicted WITHOUT informants are going to be granted new trials.

Articles all mentioned Baytieh was hiding couple of the jail informants' existences from the defense attorneys. So the trials were all tainted by his misconduct. Even the murder case would be re-trialed. This is horrible!! Folks, you can google this under 'Paul Gentile Smith' and many more developments of this long painstaking case will pop out.

CODIS began as a pilot project in 1989 as a means to collect DNA data. A large group of FBI scientists developed, tested and implemented the CODIS, Combined DNA Index System, software as well as training support for authorized forensic professionals to collect DNA samples from offenders. The DNA Identification Act of 1994 formalized the FBI’s authority to establish a National DNA Index System (NDIS) for law enforcement purposes and NDIS became operational in 1998.

Even though dna evidence started being used in court in 1991… y’all still waited 14 years to submit the killers blood to the dna lab…knowing that you got a yearly reminder to make progress toward identifying the killer from the mother of the victim. How do you investigate a bloody murder scene for 14 years BEFORE you decide to take that blood to your lab to be tested for dna? It would be understandable if they had tested the dna finding no match to anyone then just search for matches in the system every year on his birthday. If they had exhausted all leads and could do no more than to wait for the repeat offender to have his dna uploaded, I’d understand the stall and the exasperation But to Never have tested the blood from the scene in all that time? I consider that incompetence and apathy on the part of the investigators.

But yes it sucks, missing person cases that are John an Jane doe's don't have anyone to pay for a DNA test, decades later someone donates money to a have few cases to b tested, then wat about who murdered them who pays for that test

@@dwwicked4706 The tax payers are the ones who foot the bill for the DNA testing every time (rape kits) because it comes out of the budget. Unfortunately we don't get to tell them.... as a tax payer, I want you to run and re-run that test every year for matches in all cases.

Seriously, he was able to run amok raping (including animals), torturing and who knows what all those years, when they could have bothered testing D.N.A.

Unfortunately it’s the most unusual and unlikely people who often get away with this stuff for the longest. And a *shocking* number of them never reoffending or take *years* before they do so and are caught.

Yvonne and Baytieh are committed to helping others and their egoes don´t seem to stand in the way of justice as it does with so many other members of police or the justice system. And yes, whoever tortures another living creature (human, animal, a forest) is always a danger.

A prominent Orange County prosecutor was fired Wednesday (February 2022) after an independent investigation sparked by a 2010 murder conviction that was overturned last year over allegations of withheld evidence, authorities confirmed. Dist. Atty. Todd Spitzer said the investigation concluded Tuesday after examining whether Ebrahim Baytieh failed to properly turn over evidence in discovery and whether he was truthful when questioned by the U.S. Department of Justice in an ongoing federal probe into prosecutors’ use of jailhouse informants. As a result of the inquiry, Baytieh was terminated, Spitzer said. “I made it unequivocally clear when I ran … that I would not tolerate the ‘win at all costs’ mentality of the prior administration,” he said. “My prosecutors will not violate the Constitution and the rights of defendants in order to get convictions.” Despite that...Baytieh won election for judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California on June 7, 2022, after the general election was canceled. Baytieh assumed office on January 2, 2023. Baytieh's current term ends on January 8, 2029. Only in America
