I watched live on TV and I screamed for 5 minutes. I have to say greatest moment as a 32 year laker fan. As many great moments I saw, I never celebrated harder.
@@TTrevaskis2020 Yeah, I've been blessed to have gone to both games but that Horry shot had a bigger impact on the crowd. I mean nobody left and Horry had to come out, thank us fans and ask us to leave. That's crazy!
Robert Horry was the epitome of a perfect role player every championship caliber team needs since superstars can't do it by themselves. Does everything asked of him and the big moments don't faze him at all. The bigger the game was, the better he played.
Marv Albert with the classic call , "Horry, for the win....YES!" Then you barely hear Albert, "The Lakers......have somehow.....defeated the Sacramento Kings,...on a three pointer...by Robert Horry!" Priceless.🏀
I love that fact that both Kobe and Shaq missed a shot they both would normally make with ease.. Horry over there chilling like “I got this”...I’ll never forget watching this at home live as a freshman in High School
That series ends in Sacramento if LA loses this game. No way it would have come back for Game 6. Vlade taps that ball ANYWHERE else...ANYWHERE else...that series is all but over...still amazing to watch all these years later.
@@joesakic91 shout out to Chris Webber for playing the cards he was dealt and being a real leader leading a real team to the NBA finals. Lakers got all that money to create a super team and still was getting there ass beat so bad the refs had to help shave points 🤦🏽
As a lifelong Laker fan, i watched this game on TV and when Horry hit that shot, I cried. Only time I've ever even got close to crying due to a sporting event. It was epic in every way, and Hollywood couldn't have written something more dramatic. Big Shot Bob is one bad ass player that doesn't get enough love for his playoff performances. Not just 3s at the end, he's the kind of guy that will get you a critical steal or make a great pass etc. at key moments of the game. His entire 4th quarter in this game was masterful.
Since uhhhh are last 2 championships .....i mean how many other teams have won it since ......mavericks..spurs..miami..cavs..warriors.......5 teams out of how many
When the NBA was great. It wasn't just two amazing teams going up against each other every year! Rap music didn't suck... music in general. Life was amazing during this time
I remember watching this game, being so pissed (and worried) because it looked like the Kings were about to go up 3-1, and when Horry's shot fell, I screamed so loud my neighbors probably thought I'd won the lottery.
The electricity and goosebumps this Shi gave me when u hear the commentator scream HORRY FOR THE WIN !!!!!!! YES !!!!!!! CROWD goes nuts :) nothing like a 3 point shot for the win to send other team home.
I always wondered why the commentators stopped talking after the shot but the truth is THEY DIDN'T! It was that loud in the arena you couldn't hear anything. I fear we will never have this kind of excitement every again
I watched this live on tv when I was a kid and the crowd was so loud and jubilant when he hit that game winner. And the next day in school, this was the story that they always talk about and I was like in elementary back then 😁😁😁 good old times 😁😁😁 plus the fans who get to witness this historic game winner at the buzzer are so lucky 😁😁😁
+gurukof Three greatest games in the Staples Center era for the L.A. Lakers in Staples 1. Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics 2. Game 4 of the 2002 WCF against the Sacramento Kings 3. Game 7 of the 2000 WCF against the Portland Trail Blazers
This was a monster weekend of NBA Playoff basketball in 2002. With the Celtics coming back from a 20 point deficit against the Nets, and the Lakers coming back from 24 points against Kings. I will never forget this historical weekend of NBA basketball.
Laker fans are the greatest you have to be in LA to understand how great it is to be a laker fan. No bandwagon riders just a way of life. Our fans stay til the end rather we win or lose.
I remember me and my brother were screaming like crazy when we watched this game live. I still get goosebumps watching this, one of the greatest moments in Lakers history. Lakers wouldn't have three peated without Horry's buzzer beater shot.
Umm all these people saying Shaq tipped it out HE DIDN'T!! Vlade tipped it out to stop Shaq from laying it in...he just tipped it right to Robert Horry. I still remember this game like it was yesterday in my opinion it is the greatest buzzer beater ever!!
ralx225b comment might be 4 years old but still. Who are all these people you’re referring to? Everyone knows divac tipped it out after seeing the replays a few times. Nobody thought shaq tipped it out since just after it happened
+The Notorious G.T.M. But the Sacramento Kings choked. All they had to do is to win either Games 4, 6 or 7 and they didn't do it. Now, the Kings have to suffer even more when their NorCal neighbor, the Golden State Warriors, beat them to the punch in terms of winning NBA titles in 2015 and 2017.
Big Shot Rob. One of the greatest clutch shooters ever. Thanks for all those great moments Robert Horry. Laker fans will always be grateful for your clutch shots you made during those championship runs. Kobe learned from one of the best.
Robert Keith Horry is an American retired basketball player and current sports commentator. He played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association, winning seven championships, the most of any player not to have played on the 1960s Boston Celtics.-Wikipedia
I was 13 years old I remember watching this game with my dad I just remember jumping up and just hugging him and crying I was so happy when he made that shot.
The Kings always started so fast. I’d just came from church to get ready for work and saw this. Praise GOD and our Lord & Savior JESUS for this Lakers win!
Reasons like these are why I ask Robert Horry’s Number 5 is not yet Retired in Purple and Gold. Robert Horry will always be My Favorite Laker during the 2000’s!
i'm a life long houston rocket fan. i remember robert horry started making shots late in games in the 1995 playoffs. that one huge shot against san antonio in game 1 of the 3rd round was the beginning of horry's late season magic. he was unbelievable
Straight up, No lie. I literally ran through our house when Horry hit that J, yelling, "He hit it! He hit it! He hit the shot!" My wife and kids, who were about 10 and 8 years old at the time, thought I was crazy. You know, they probably still do....... I still watch this clip from time to time. Still get that feeling inside. Tears, man. Chills, for real. And, after he hit it, 'Big Shot Rob' was BEYOND COOL. James Bond style. "This is what I do!" Best ever. 🏀
As a Laker fan living in Sacramento at this time, THIS was the Biggest clutch play I was proud to have bragging rights to when I went back to school the next day 😂😂
+Brian Davis (Professor B) Oh, their pretend three-peat? They lost that series. Game 6 was rigged to a ridiculous degree. The Kings will always have rightfully won in 2002. The Lakers will always have acted like twats and pretended they won in 2002, even though they had to have known it was bullshit.
Dammm Finally found it I still remember me and my Dad (R.I.P) i was a kid 12 years old we were crazy watching tv in this game 2002 when the lakers they couldn't get through to kings the whole game none single point they were behind all game and then horry show up with his 3 point in the last seg 1 point ufff what a NBA my favorite game,
For me this is a where were u moment in my life, ill never forget it! It was my sisters bday party at the park and we had a small tv one of the tables with the game on and all the guys and some girls were watching it. Ill never forget that “Horry for the win”! Ahhhhhhhh
Floridaoutlaw84 yeah, as one of the commentators said with about 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter: "The kings are not playing this game to win, they're playing not to lose" So thats the real reason why they lost this particular game.
The kings we such a damn good team . I remember this series was like the finals. They were the 2 best teams in the NBA . Whoever won would easily win the finals . Shaq and Kobe era was a lot of fun …. If you’re a Lakers fan 😂
I remember watching this in san diego and being so happy to watch the former Rocket great keeping his clutch shooting alive. Robert Horry, one of my favorites ever
I remember this like it was yesterday, I was at universal city walk on that night and they show it on the big jumbo screen and everybody including me went crazy
Just love the admiration of Laker fans!!! R.I.P. Kobe and another great Shot from Robert… thanks for the assist Vlade ☺️ yeah once a Laker always a Laker lol
The look on Horrys face after the shot was priceless 😮 And why did the announcer say Shaq tipped it out???? Divac clearly thought he was still a laker and tipped it to Big Shot Bob....
One of the greatest moments in NBA history. No question. Big Shot Bob does it again and the Dynasty continues at the expense of the Sacramento Queens. What a game and what a series. The crowd was so loud that Marv got drowned out after the shot went in.
