Yall always think he’s telling it for the guest 😂 interviewers preface questions with background information for the audience, some who might be young or just not know.
I will never forget being stationed with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit 2nd Battalion 1st Marines. We were the forward Marine Forces Unit to hit land in Afghanistan. To civilians, “Forward is a military term for first”. We were on a rotation deployment and was currently in Australia when the Twin Towers were knocked down. It was a very chaotic time with no clear plan from the George W Bush and the Pentagon on what we were going to do. Bush Jr wanted to do what he father didn’t do and that was to take control of the oil fields. Desert Storm was a joke. When Jr got elected I knew something was going to pop off while he was in office. I didn’t know what but I had a feeling something was going to happen then it did. I told my men once we got the briefing on what happened in New York that this is not a drill exercise. There will be some sort of retaliation and we were likely going to get our deployment extended because we were possibly the closest Navy/Marine Corps Fleet to theater. It happened. We set sailed to Western Asia/Middle East in the Arabian Gulf far south of Pakistan and India before getting the clearance to fly us in combat helicopters from ship over the country of Pakistan in country.
@8:47 Rob has never explained how HIS command knew of the danger of SA-7s in that valley while the officers who sent the rescue team in on those helos didn't know? The official reports said that the bird was downed by a 'lucky shot' from an RPG.
I served in Iraq with 1/7 battalion both in 2004 and 2006 I think Robert is a bit misguided on his perspective of how bad Iraq was cause he only came in 2006 when the war just started cooling off but back in 2004 Iraq was a hot mess I’ll never forget the 1st week the company commander of weapons company lost his life to an IED and we were bombarded non stop with mortars rockets gunfire you name it, however on my 2nd tour in 2006 it was very peaceful and we were more focused on training the police and army for whatever that was worth but I respect Robert but his perspective on how bad Iraq was just needs some context.
Im in Iraq right now. Same mortars, rockets, and now they have one ways (explosive packed drones from Iran). Same hot mess, although on a much smaller scale then your days out here.
Alot of these vets had pills and other artificial medicines jammed down their throats for the issues they developed in service. Alot of the guys who spent you know 20years with 10+ combat deployments under their belt have only found help and solace in plant/natural medicines i.e Ibogaine, DMT, Ayahuasca, Mushrooms etc. We should be helping these guys (and the civilians who need it as well) by legalizing this sh!t. Not demonizing and criminalizing it. It legit seems to be the only thing thing that actually helps, and for a lot of these dudes that's a tough statement to say because it's still illegal and frowned upon. Especially from their community
majority of spec ops guys were stoners before service or become stoners after. you typically find higher drug usage rates in those guys, it ties into the adrenaline/thrill seeking thing. their brains spend hours pumping out amounts of chemicals we might not see for weeks
@@AnnoyedGlobe-sf9yo to sacrifice anything for the USA is laughable. The USA's fundamental principle is a country of diverse people working together. People in the USA don't work together whatsoever. They are miserable af and hate each other
Actually it was Prince Bandar al Saud who paid the 9/11 hijackers, not Israel. All the hijackers were Saudis. Google redacted 9/11 Commission Report. There is strong evidence Bush had foreknowledge b/c he was FRIENDS with Bandar for over TWENTY YEARS!! So blame Saudi Arabia, not Israel.
Iraq started selling oil for Euros instead of USD, that's what US cares about. Oil being sold for USD to create a global demand for dollars and subsequently US Treasuries.
When it came to smoke he wanted all of it. Was not ducking any of it. The military need guys like this everybody can’t be in it for image, discounts etc etc.
@LikeLikeLikeLikeLke may have been the real reason but it wasn't about kwait. The US was already station there from the first war. Also had bases in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. George Bush 2nd had a personal vendetta
@@AnnoyedGlobe-sf9yo I read your comments annoyed globe. You're a cool person. However you go overboard: yes military are absurd af to fight for america they're not clowns. The real "clowns" are lawyers and judges. The concept of america is great. The product is the opposite of great. But the concept is great.
The Bin Laden story is cool and all but the rescue of Marcus Luttrell is wild they need to make a part 2 to Mark Walbhergs Lone survivor showing the rescue
