The 2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour features an unprecedented lineup including headliners Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and John Mellencamp with Brittney Spencer, Celisse, and Southern Avenue. Billy Strings will also join the tour for one special night at The Gorge in Washington.

The inaugural Outlaw Music Festival made its debut in 2016 in Scranton, Pa. The sold-out show was so well received that Blackbird, Rothbaum, and Nelson have developed it into one of North America’s biggest annual touring franchises. Musicians such as Chris Stapleton, Neil Young, Luke Combs, Van Morrison, ZZ Top, Eric Church, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, The Avett Brothers and many more have been a part of the Outlaw Tour, sharing unforgettable music memories and unique vendor villages with local food, drinks, and shopping in Live Nation amphitheaters across the country.

OUTLAW TOUR LAUNCHES WITHOUT WILLIE NELSON:
The 2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour launched without its leader Willie Nelson on Friday night in Alpharetta, Georgia, but the show went on featuring sets by Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Celisse.
In place of Nelson's own set, his son's band Lukas Nelson and the Family Band performed instead, with a guest appearance by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks.
Plant and Krauss performed many of their usual selections, including Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" and "The Battle of Evermore," plus "When the Levee Breaks," which they recently officially released. Dylan, on the other hand, brought out a number of unexpected songs, including a cover of Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie," "Under the Red Sky" for the first time in over a decade and several songs from his 2012 album, Tempest.
On Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Nelson would not be appearing at opening night.
"We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well, and per doctor's orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days," their post read. "He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week. In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will perform a special set to include Willie's classics and others songs. Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Celisse will continue to perform as scheduled."
Other artists who will be performing on this year's trek include Brittney Spencer, Southern Avenue, Billy Strings and John Mellencamp. The tour will conclude on Sept. 17 in Buffalo, New York.

To be fair, Robert Plant was not responsible for packing that “stadium” which isn’t a stadium. It was a festival and he was not the headliner. Misleading header. BUT, he and Allison are certainly packing theaters. And that’s great. Saw him in 2022 with Krauss in a park concert. Lovely evening.

Technically it’s an Amphitheater but that’s a hella long word. Unfortunately RU-vid limits the amount of characters I can use in the title so I ran out of space and had to use a smaller word in its place. Most people will get the drift. And he IS still selling out Stadiums , even though this is, as I said, an amphitheater.

@@TheAdventuresofDrewandAmanda please…..I love Robert. Favorite male vocalist. But why say something that’s not true? Are we talking semantics? As a single act (not part of a larger festival), what stadiums has Robert Plant, as a solo act, filled? One example would do. With Page in the 90’s, they filled arenas. In the 80’s, Robert could fill arenas. With Strange Sensations, it was theaters. Ditto Band of Joy. Ditto Sensational Shape Shifters. Ditto Amazing Grace his current folk band. and with Allison Krauss, it’s been theaters, amphitheater’s, and festivals with other performers. Why Inflate it? Filling theaters still makes him a successful solo artist. Most artists never even attain that goal. There have actually been very few bands in music history that can fill stadiums. Zeppelin was one. Beatles. Stones. Pink Floyd, Queen, Foo Fighters, INXS, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé perhaps a dozen others. Plant solo was and is not. As I said, one example would suffice.
