THIS IS FOR THE PC VERSION ONLY! YOU CAN'T PLAY ROBIN OR NIGHTWING FREE-ROAM ON XBOX 360 OR PS3! THERE ARE XBOX BUTTONS ON SCREEN BECAUSE I USE AN XBOX 360 CONTROLLER FOR WINDOWS!
Robin is playable in free-roam through a little modding of the PC version. Sorry for the choppy video. I didn't have the best CPU at the time of recording.

Now, the free-roam isn't perfect. It has its flaws. Robin has Batman's voice for example, and don't go in the courthouse, whatever you do, unless you enjoy being stuck. There's some other bugs and glitches too, so I call upon you fellow PC gamers to maybe build upon this and perfect it, so we can have truly flawless Robin and Nightwing free-roam.

Someone else has made files that let you play as Animated Robin, Red Robin or Animated Nightwing. You can find them here: forums.arkhamve...
To use it:
1. Navigate to the Batman: Arkham City game directory and place either "DefaultGame.ini - Robin" or "DefaultGame.ini - Nightwing" in the correct folder, depending on which version of the game you have:
Original Steam version: Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\batman2\BmGame\Config\
GOTY edition (non-Steam): Program Files(x86)\WB Games\Batman Arkham City GOTY\BmGame\Config\ -- Thanks, Ray Facto!
2. Rename the "DefaultGame.ini" file in there to DefaultGameCopy.ini
3. Rename either "DefaultGame - Robin.ini" or "DefaultGame - Nightwing.ini" to "DefaultGame.ini"
4. Load up Arkham City, select a new save slot and start a new game. Bam! Robin or Nightwing free-roam.
Note: You DO need the Robin and Nightwing DLC to play as those characters. The game will crash if you don't have the DLC.
If you want to play as Red Robin, do the following:
1. Open the DefaultGame.ini you just downloaded.
2. Find and change the line "?Players=Playable_Robin?" to "?Players=Playable_Robin_Red?" (Without the quotation marks)
3. Save
4. DONE!
