Thank you for this beautiful opportunity to see Barry and Robin together as friends and brothers. I watched an interview with Robin that took place just before Maurice died where Robin said that they all lived very separate lives, didn't gather around the Christmas tree together... It left me very sad to think that they weren't close. But this Manchester Outtake must have been around 2008 and it's a gift to see Robin and Barry together reminiscing and enjoying each other's company. Sadly, Robin may have been in ill health by then? One thing is certain, their bond as musicians and brothers will last through eternity in every song they've left us.
Robin was so thin, probably fighting cancer. To end this in a cemetery is heartbreaking. I love that their entire family gave us such wonderful music, measurably better than all their contemporaries. Thank you, Gibb family, for your gifts to us.
@@caroldavies2185 I was only 2 years old when he left, and I can remember my dad being really sad for days back in 2003, then about 4 years ago, I discovered this amazing band of brothers, and aside from being one of their biggest yet youngest fans, I can finally understand why my dad was so sad, because my dad grew up alone and he has the same personality with Mo, basically he lost his spirit animal
It's so cool Robin was able to visit his childhood home before he was taken from us. If you can't find love in your heart for these three brothers and Andy or for that matter the entire family, your a cold person. These are the people who make our world & lives great! There music was and is our lives. They are the most humble people in our world.
Barry was the loving big brother....telling the neighbor kid he'd get him for shooting Maurice in the eye with an air gun. Barry always protected his brothers.....GREAT BIG BROTHER!
Wow. So nice to see Barry and Robin together, going back home, and reliving memories of their home and growing up there. The sidewalks are so narrow. Only one person at a time can fit there. It was so nice to see Barry and Robin had their arms around each other for the picture. It made me sad to see the two like this, as we all know, Robin was gone a few years after this trip.
Children were happier then, unsupervised and the streets were theirs To see them in the rain and hear Mr. Sunshine and talking about Mo as if it was their Mr.Sunsine taken away, so sad
This video is priceless!!!! Thank you Barry and Robyn for showing us where all started. It is 2022 and of course Robyn is not with us any more. Andy, Maurice and Robyn RIP
Thank you for this. It’s clear that their bond was very strong. I thought I heard Robin say that “He was Barry’s number one fan”. The nicknames, the old friends, the memories were vivid for both of them. Really enjoyed this so much.
Just so beautiful and sad at the same time watching them together with so much love for each other as brothers.. sad without Maurice and Andy. Most sad knowing that sweet Robin had to endured such painful death few years later. God Blessed them with Amazing Talent and Loving Souls. Thank you for posting this special clip. Barry is now all alone with his boys.. still writing and composing his magical songs for us. Love watching three Brothers Gibs!.Love The BEE GEES!❤💞💋👭
This is great the two of them together. So sad that Robin was so sick. There will never be a voice like Robin's again. They were all amazing. I listen to them everyday.
Ellen Montgomery - Lovely to see. I find it amazing with all they went through together how they could ever have drifted apart. A guy just walked up to them and got a photo and autographs. I WISH! Seeing Robin in the cemetery so frail and thin breaks my heart. He said "You can't control it. It's just when and how". :(
I'm a huge lifelong fan and never seen this before, Its wonderful to see how humble they are and hear the stories of their childhood. They were just poor project kids, amazing how huge they would become. God Bless them all, keep making music Barry.
Grief is not only losing your loved one but also losing the ability to discuss all of the special memories you shared. It’s like losing a large piece of your own life. Barry must deal with this daily.
Just an ordinary family with kids that loved music wow so proud of you lads , Wish. barry still lived here in England . Their music is played All around the globe ❤ masters of the music world ❤❤❤ ❤ never forget Andy too.🐝🐝🐝Gees humble men ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊
The BeeGees music 🎵 will stay alive for generations to come. All of this footage is fabulous. There will never be better singer/ songwriters as good as the BeeGees.
I had no idea they lived there. I was a student in that area in 1987, in a big Victorian house, and checked the map. I lived in Manley Road which is up the road and round the corner from Keppel Road..! What a surprise! We called it Whalley Range, not Chorlton, like Robin did in this video.
I grew up with black & white TV… no home phone.. ☺️until I was in high school.. 4 party line.. no AC wood stove for winter.. fresh cows meal, eggs, pork & beef.. one acre garden.. swim in the pond.. (that one we never told our parents) play in the woods.. 💙I HAD THE BEST CHILDHOOD EVER
Actually, it's more of a Manx-Mancunian hybrid dialect with bits of RP (Received Pronunciation) and quite a few Americanisms (especially Barry and Maurice).
Lovely listening to these two brothers reminisce about their childhood. Their bond developed early. Loved how Barry said he was going to get the guy who shot Maurice with the air gun, always looking out for each other. I can just imagine the neighborhood kids running the alleyways and getting into mischief.
@@sandram.daluzconstancio1440 Yes, as much as they might disagree between themselves, they would always be there for each other. You are blessed to have a large family, I hope you are all together for a very long time xx
Luv protective older brother..Barry..soooo sweet.. Barry was devastated when Mo suddenly died..crying on stage..overcome! I've cried...miss beautiful Mo☆
I love this. Thanks for sharing. They're like me and my sister. Mostly we agreed. I love seeing Barry and Robin reminisce. These guys were all geniuses. Self taught. Their drive came from the love of singing together.
Going down memory lane is lovely, it elicits such good memories and times that were easier and carefree. You get to remember, feel and renew that bond of growing up together ❤ To me it makes all the complicated problems and hurt developed in adulthood with each other fade into oblivion. The only thing missing was Maurice..
Clear to see, ordinary people, living ordinary lives. Gave an autograph not because of beeing stars, but just to appreciate. Everybody's got to give a hand, everybody's got to take a hand.
Yes. And I also love it when I see another Bee Gees fan cite a line from Mister Natural. That album is terrific but didn't score. Although, IMO, all their albums up through Spirits Having Flown were good to great.
Sra.
They were the absolute biggest thing that hit the 70's... But in the 80's you never stopped hearing them thru other artists... When they came out with their album in the late 80's I could'nt wait to hear it.. But American radio would Not play it. And the album flopped compared to 70's sales...But it Europe & especially England it was a huge success...I always thought it was unfair to the B.G's after all the succes they'd had over the last 20 yrs..I bought the album & played it for wks on my way to work. The album in the early 90's all of a sudden had a #1 hit . I think mostly due to the young kids just dicovering them. Enough time had passed to untie them from disco , of which I never thought of them as a disco band.. But radio strapped them to the genre & it took 15 yrs to get past it.. When Mo died , my first thought was , its over. Their would never be a B.G.s song again & there were none... The chemistry was gone . Then Robin died . Barry has since made a few albums & toured and I think thats what he needed to do... How he could get on stage again I dont know... They were 6 & 9 when they started singing & performing . All their lives were together . Sad end to a beautiful era .
Luv you Rob💜 n Barry❤this is so nostalgic!!! I miss London n Oxford too💦 sorry our dauhling Mo🙏 isnt there to relive your young days learning your wonderful songs n beautiful harmonies, which we all luv so much😍 miss you Mo🎵🎶 🙏🌹luv you 😘💖💗❤
Enjoy learning Everything about the BEE GEES. ENJOY looking at old buildings & the architecture. Barbara said Barry would sit outside at night & play his guitar. I have read where Barry enjoyed the outdoors ; but also most likely no air - conditioning. Its what you would do until the indoor air would cool off for sleeping. This segment reminded how grateful I am to have grown up in the Country . Wide - open spaces. Thx for this Segment. P.S. THE GIBB BOYS would have been the cool kids on the block. The Go To's.
Thank you, 01livingeyes, for this wonderful video. As always you give us such rare footage of our precious angels and we truly appreciate it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Lovely to see them, they seem very truthful & funny with & nice to see the lovely Barbara Gibb, more like this please. What an interesting life or lives they had & also successful. Will live on forever . ❤️💋❤️👍
Watching them reminisce about their past reminds me of mine! I grew up in America but we are in the same age group so much of their past is like mine! Their music is such a large part of my history! Thank you for a lifetime of great memories! My all time favorite group! The Bee Gees! The best!
That small black car is so beautiful and interesting to see.We became acquainted by this band in 1980s,as l bought a full cassette of the hits of them, here in our home country,Paakistaan. We played it so much,as each and every song was a master piece. Thanks for the video.Prayers for the band members from Raawalpindee, Northern Province of Punjaab, lslaamic Republic of Paakistaan, South Asia 🌏 😊.
I have 3 sisters (I’m #3 of 4) and of course we’d sometimes fight when we were growing up - my mom would say you better be nice to each other because in the end, your sisters will be the ones you can count on - so true. Nice to see this deep brotherly connection that nothing could break
Robin states that they thought that talent scouts would be "dressed as Scouts." Too funny! Barry remembers and names his first kiss. Wonder if she, Florence Barber, remembers it? Or has ever seen this remembrance?!
Barry was always the romantic one. He was once asked how he could write so many romantic songs while he was just a young boy and he said he used to get his ideas for romantic songs from reading his older sister Leslie's romance magazines.😂😂😂.
What a sweet video. This is how I want to remember the brothers. Together, laughing and reminiscening of days gone by. I also love hearing them speak and their accents. ❤
This was great. Thank you for posting it. Wish there were more "fly on the wall" videos. Just following along listening to reminiscing. Maybe they did. It's just that when people have a career that spans so many pages of the lives of complete strangers, naturally they can't get enough, even though you have to yield as it's their private life. I will be watching this one a great many more times. Thank you.
WOW. I can see why they had to move to help them get a singing career. This is so nice to watch. Great memories come back! Such down to earth guys! Maurice would be smiling~
