Roblox Weird Strict Dad Chapter 2 is GOD AWFUL 

That basement thing is really quite problematic. They go through the trouble of introducing mechanics such as cameras and sleep, and do nothing to introduce you to the basement other than an arbitrary objective. The fact the basement is pointed out specifically makes it less immersive and interactive. Maybe being vigilant of the basement in chapter 2 would reward you with skipping an encounter, while stragglers who went upstairs would have to deal with a harder or elongated encounter with your dad. Chekhov's gun or whatever, this oversight is really emblematic of what's wrong with Weird Strict Dad. It's not rewarding being vigilant and alert (i.e. muting was beneficial to you, being aware of the audio just met you with tinnitus from all the ear wrecking faux jumpscares).

It'd be fitting to start calling these type of games the "Rainbow Friends Paradox" in that they have interesting ideas, but end up following the same poorly made story-driven format that are released in sequential chapters between stupidly long periods of time. And are also probably made to cater towards exploiting kids.

This is to be expected, unfortunately. Considering how it's a Roblox story game, it was only a matter of time before THIS got a sequel.

I think a reason for them not showing the basement earlier, could be for "suspense" or surprise but it failed horribly lmao. They could've showed a normal basement then use some bullshit logic for it to change or use a flashback with the basement before Or just a damn quick cutscene playing zoombing on the basement door open/ openning with an animation and "hide" written on top while they still kept the objective. This moment is just here to trick your muscle memory and confuse you so you die once or twice due to bad game design.

i love the tonal shift from 'survive your dad' to 'make the 3am among us minecraft potion to cure ur dad of impostor disease' then turned the possessor into the GRIM REAPER who WIELDS A SCYTHE also the basement makes no sense. everyone has wizarding equipment and e=mc squared floating on the wall in their basement. these are realistic things which do not break immersion

as some have stated before, they had an amazing opportunity and threw it into lava by making the game about the boring concept of possession. edit: oh god there's a troll/shill in the replies

I actually would've liked it if the second chapter followed the mom. How would she react to the dad becoming possessed? Would she become possessed as well? If she did, would the player have to deal with a second night of hell? There was so much that could've been done, and it all gets chucked into the mud for this strange plot.

They had a chance to improve, they did not. How do you fumble this bad

This Dad was truly Weird and Strict before going to the Silent Dark and go back to the house to do a Resident Evil and become an Intruder so he can access the Lost Rooms and cook his children and commit a Residence Massacre on the neighborhood

To be honest, having to redo the entire process after dying is seriously painful considering the fact you can't skip that said process. It would definitely be better to have them skip the whole process to waste less time Also I think that if everyone dies then the game should just reset and teleport everyone back because it would make no sense to play the cutscene where dad dies even though everyone's dead

God I just love your content. While the “pop-ups” and images and gifs may seem repetitive they really do something to keep my attention. It’s very engaging in a childlike sense. It really brings me back. Thanks for your amazing critiques of wsd, my friends have been playing it nonstop and I’ve had no idea why it’s so popular, this explains it a lot tbh. Always found it boring.

Note: The Squid that appears in the beginning of the game is stolen from a Terraria Mod named "Calamity mod" in which is named "Colossal Squid".

i know weird strict dad isn't a good game, but it was successful, so weird strict dad got copied and there's a game called "weird sus grandma". my mind regrets knowing that the game exists

im shocked there was no mention that if you make the wrong potion, you have to restart the game because you don't get ingredients back atleast from what i played the punishment could've been "oh now dad's more active" or "if you do it too much he'll kill you quickly" but you just don't get to win anymore

when i first played weird strict dad i was so scared of the dad before he even turned evil (i thought the game would be about an abusive father and i have a bit of father trauma) and then i realized it was just a game where the father got possessed

I'm with you bro. those dev who are working on this game have no humor at all. they put updates so fast and they completely ignore the issues and the bugs in the game which makes me angry >:( . I totally respect residence massacre as a great horror invention and weird strict dad is a so much cheap copy.

I recommend you review it lurks or they lurk, the sequel or they lurk pt the remake. personally, I prefer the original due to the fact that they lurk PT strays' way too far from the original, so I guess the only one you can review is they lurk due to the fact it lurks is broken to the point where it softlocks you at the beginning of the game.

One time I tried playing chapter 1 with my friend and it was AWFUL.. we literally couldn't go downstairs bc dad would wake up way too often (crouching or not), pretty sure u can't outrun him too cuz I tried one time, AND ALSO when I was dead the dad just glitched out and kept trying to kill me (resulting in me constantly getting flinged around and floating) Also the lore is trash

You HAVE to try "a nostalgic hangout game" and "a nostalgic crossroads game", they are horror games with a storyline never seen before in all of roblox, and i'd say its the best of the best roblox game as of now

Why can't no one make a genuinely fun roblox horror game?

I like the old Roblox style and all (I’m a enthusiast and big fan of old Roblox games,) but the basement is SHIT. They literally forgot what they were doing and it just shows how little they cared for the development. And I’m a builder myself who specializes in retro style building and I actually have to make sure it matches the style.

When i saw this game get more popular then other Interesting Or decent Horror games (residence massacre Jims computer possibly lost rooms) it gave me the full motivation to fall in a basement full of saw blades) and I highly doubt they even tested their own game lol also another thing is sometimes the dads hitbox or ai can be broken when me and some friends where playing this the dad was on me for 20 seconds when i wasn’t moving before i finally died and we one time easily stuck the dad in one of the basement corners which was a easy win for us

Stop the chapter format, all these games copied piggy (which did a much better job making a horror game than any of these stupid games) they are just a useless system, use different ways of new sections in the story, like how DOORS did. Doors did floors instead of chapters. Just use unique story sections.

You know the idea of boarding up the stairway could of been cool if they were multiple ways to enter and while the door is the most common for him to enter, just boarding it up could lead to him searching better [aka some hiding spots are now red and he can see through them,, woag.] or more often going through other hiding spots maybe a vent leads directly to the kitchen but boarding it up leads to less o2 and hiding in it drains ur o2 even more so u gotta be quick ect Could lead to fun challenges where you ONLY use vents or, ect leading to more playtime to more bobux

They could have improved from all the money they made from chapter 1... Oh boy

Breadian's critiques at the beginning felt kind of weak and nitpicky, aside from the screamer, which has no reason to be there nor be so loud. You would have to possess the patience and attention span of a TikTok user to accuse Chapter 2's beginning of having padding when it basically throws you right into the game. Not only that, but his complaint about the game allegedly trying to mislead players into dying at the beginning is puzzling because the door is scripted to open just before the dad chases you, which occurs at 5:46 in Breadian's own video. My only guess is that he was the victim of some sort of glitch. Chapter 2 makes vast improvements over Chapter 1, such as removing padding, removing the useless camera mechanic, having a more active style of gameplay as opposed to Chapter 1's gameplay being based around waiting for the dad to go back downstairs so they can eat, drink, and refuel the generator. You could beat Chapter 2 in roughly 5 minutes or so by brewing the correct potion and applying it to the dad, which is better than Chapter 1's FNAF-inspired "wait until 6 AM" (I guess the mysterious man's possession only works from 9 PM to 6 AM for some reason). Chapter 2 has its own flaws, such as the signs for the potion being iffy in showing up at times (the blurred vision is annoying as well), the newer parts of the basement don't have any lockers which means you're done for if the dad wakes up (there's also a closet with a dead body impaled with a sword, you die instantly if you touch it, accompanied by the jumpscare, which is just obnoxious and confusing), the jumpscare at the beginning, the game not telling you where to find the potion book, and the uselessness of barricading. I do also feel generator refueling should not be a mechanic. However, over all, I would say it is far better than Chapter 1. Considering how much Breadian criticized Part 1's padding in the beginning segment, it's strange that he wouldn't mention Part 2's lack of padding in the beginning segment. I don't like defending this game, but I feel that improvements should be acknowledged.

(im not defending this game it sucks) Let's not go too far. As a Roblox player, I can say SOME games are pretty scary. A great example is Jim's Computer. A game with no jumpscares, no dark areas, just a simple house, but it's so intense it genuinely makes me scared, but most games forget what horror is. Horror is not just pure dark on your screen and creepy jumpscares, it is not skeletons or blood, it's making the player scared to advance in the game. Now, some people don't like jumpscares or dark areas, but games like ''Weird Strict Dad'' are not horror. They're not horror at all. I can totally agree with you about this. Then there's the bad thing. Roblox players are children, make a really scary horror game and it will never get popular. It's sad.
