Would be cool if the "Weird Strict Dad" was dealing with abuse rather than the boring concept of possesion.

I feel like ever since Jim's computer, people have been trying to pull of the "scary old roblox" aesthetic and the majority of the time it fails miserably

You can tell they just saw Get a Snack at 4AM and thought “we can do that”

There is actually one part of good part in this game, even if it’s very unintentional. The segment where you have to cook and eat noodles right in front of your dad was oddly uncomfortable. The fact that not a single word was said between you and your life long parent. Not even asking “How was your day?”. Even if it was just for a minute, it actually an unnerving moment. I would personally love to see a concept like this put into a better, more fleshed game. The effect only happens if your playing alone tho. Too bad that the game immediately follows this up with “THE PORCH BOOGEYMAN IS GOING TO BRAINWASH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY” right after your dad walks outside.

As I mentioned before in a previous video, once a new horror game gets popular, you'll start seeing a whole bunch of these clone games come out of the woodwork, trying to cash in on the success of the former game, while completely forgetting as to HOW and WHY said game became so popular in the first place.

The biggest design flaw is the generator, since it’s on limited gas canisters people can just use them all at the start immediately and completely ruin the game. How did the devs not think about this?!

I literally just saw my little brother play this game yesterday with his friend. This might come off as some sort of stereotype, but I swear every single Roblox horror game I see that replicates the style of "Old Roblox" always sucks and is a cash-grab using excuses to add terrible graphics.

This game reminds me of those "story" tycoon games like "making memes in your basement at 3am" or "get cancelled tycoon" which seems to mostly be made by the group Badass experiences because of the trash model and the seemingly quick pumped out factory feeling of those games as they tend to have very similar plots and gameplay formula as another.

the game could have took a "my eyes deceive" strat but actually taking good things of my eyes deceive and residence massacre, like for example how the kid or victim normalizes the things it lives like the antidote of my eyes deceive, the normal but somehow uncomfortable or terrifying looking from residence massacre, the decision things you can choose on my eyes deceive and maybe even the unsettling feeling of something that in a normal house something bad is hapenning like in both games, if the game actually took a thing like this and make it work it would be great, maybe someone who actually cares could try?

I finally see actual good criticism for this game I don't get how it got so popular as soon as I saw it I jsut immediately thought it was just a lazy copy of residence massacre and ignored it until it died the tasks are completely unnecessary at the beginning especially the trash collecting part the dialogue is so soulless especially at the end the ai is also abyssmal

I think Weird Strict Dad is meant to just be a chaotic horror game that borrows elements from Residence Massacre, but I think it would definitely be interesting if it spoke on issues such as domestic abuse and gaslighting in a palatable, subtle way. The game could've very easily expanded upon how the dad automatically went about trying to hurt his child when he got possessed, and how he partially dismissed it the next morning.

the funny thing is that you can actually just die and still win the game. i remember discovering this bug when i died and i thought the game would be over, but uhhh nope, the dad just kept running around like a madman and it was just hilarious.

A problem with the intro scene is that everyone has the same tasks. It would be okay if it told you the story through this system of tasks, but only if everyone could choose what to do, split up, whatever. And even logic wise, if you were a dad with 5 kids you would most definetly make them do different chores after returning home in the evening.

pretty sure the random meme images in the game is also to copy off of get a snack at 4am/snackcore (not to mention both having a strict dad, and being in the classic roblox style.) those games arent even horror games, theyre joke games, but snackcore has also had its EXTENDED fair share of people ripping off the concept and just putting "[do action] at [insert late AM time]" and copying the game almost exact, so i wouldnt be surprised if weird strict dad was also trying to copy snackcore on top of residence massacre.

When I saw weird strict dad, I instantly knew it was a throwaway horror game trying to capitilise off the sucess of residance massicure, an already ok horror game, but holy I did not think it was this bad. mad respect to Breadian for having the courage to play these blaitantly bad ROBLOX horror games and makibg videos on them and debunking why they are bad

They added a thirst mechanic too now and it just feels like they’re adding more ways for you to die just so you have to replay

residence massacre added a skipping feature recently where you can skip from the radio straight to the objectives or skip daytime entirely :-DDDD also one of the times when I tried playing weird strict dad, as I went to bed he was running around the house as usual and at some point he just randomly got stuck while going up the stairs, just running in place

Okay this comment may go unnoticed, but I found your channel through that Isle video. And then I totally forgot about this channel until I got into Roblox horror games. This channel is really entertaining, informative about some good and awful games.

now that I think about it, why wouldn't the 4 main characters just all gang up on the possessed dad and beat him to the point of fainting. it's not like he's gotten all that powerful and shid his face just changed and he's now just a little more deranged than usual

while everything u said was true, i think this game and other cash grab games like this is a good way to just turn your brain off and be jumpscared for mindless fun, especially with a lot of friends. in my opinion, getting off ur high horse once in a while and just laughing and screaming at dumb horror games makes something as lazy as this pretty worthwhile

Alright, alright. You must have NOT played the new Residence Massacre Halloween update, which made the game MUCH more fun. You can skip the day section ENTIRELY if you finish all your tasks. Also, There’s now Halloween badges and hats, you can see better in the camera with a flash button,(even though it should scare the monster..) and on top of that, some badges REALLY change your gameplay. For one of the badges, you can awaken zombies to make the night harder, but you’ll have to do this with friends bc it sucks when you’re alone. And for the other badge, you can survive until 3AM to join another FNAF-like experience where you sometimes hide from the monster while managing your sanity until the time ends. Go play this new update and experience some of these things for yourself!

Weird strict dad has more visits than residence massacres and that boils my blood, why tf is the obvious knockoff becoming more popular. Residence massacre gets good updates, events and accessories and weird strict dad just has ridiculous gamemodes that are just boring and waste playtime. The game is also extremely rinse and repeat and residence massacre always keeps you on your toes. And now people are making weird strict (insert word) games and residence massacre ain’t getting no credit!

Honestly the game could have been interesting if it did what the name hinted at, a game about an abusive dad. Hell, you could still add the possesion aspect just add some sort of twist to it at least, like maybe the kid just thinks the dad is possesed as a coping mechanism or even the dad wasn't possessed the whole time and was just abusive the whole time and even the weird setting could have hinted at that, with the old roblox style turning into the mesh-like style overtime as you realize the truth, like a sort of jim's computer type of game. But nope, we don't get anything creative or even at least good. it's just a ripoff that plays poorly. Honestly it feels even offensive in a way cuz it's taking a serious topic and turning into a residence massacre rip-off. Like, if you're gonna make a rip-off at the very least dont take a serious topic like abuse and use that if it's gonna be so bad.

You should review minus elevation I think you would like it. It’s a horror rogue like there are other games exactly like it called addition abstraction and addition ascension all very good horror rogue likes and pretty easy to get into imo

I was really hoping this would be a fun, goofy and enjoyable horror game. And looking at the name and thinking of the idea, I was excited. Then I played it…it’s broken, boring, bland and unoriginal. Which is unfortunate, I also love how the grammar for the in game text is incorrect lol

I remember giving this game 2 rounds and saying to myself "you know... this game may not be very good", and then proceed to never play the game after and act like it never existed. I will say that the biggest con is that I have have to go haft a mile to get to the food area, and have only a 0.1% chance in ever making it back to the bedroom alive.

me and my friend actually had to build a strategy to survive playing residence massacre. on top of that, we also had to run away from the monster multiple times, giving the game its thrill of horror. eventually we both won and continued our days as normal. about an hour later I went on youtube and saw weird strict dad for the first time and when I realized that people liked it more than residence massacre I lost hope in humanity again

The worst of all is that the game is easy and there will still be a chapter two and in the Halloween update, when you enter the game, a message appears saying that chapter 2 will be released on the 25th of October or the 1st of November I think the second chapter will be bad because there is no way to continue the story

Played that game yesterday. The intro gave me 2018 story games vibes, where you explore the 4 meters square map for 5 MINUTES. This was already a bad sign, and it got worse. After the stupid intro and the awful cutscene with the dad, I got killed WHILE I was FALLING ASLEEP. LIKE I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE BUT I STILL GOT KILLED. I said to myself « maybe it’s one of these games where you have lifes and you restart where you died ! » and I got send back to the intro. I’m never playing this again.

Yo breadian, please check out left 4 blox. Like your typical zombie game, its a wave based survival that is retro styled, similar to the undead coming. This may sound like a recipe for disaster, but its actually one of the more balanced zombie games. For once you can only spawn as a special infected and dont have to suffer as a normal. Another thing is that survivors cannot sprint, letting most zombies catch up to them with ease. Another thing that separates it from normal zombie games are that the zombie and human teams are actually equal in numbers at the start of the match instead of only having 1 zombie spawn. And finally, loadouts are randomised, so theres no demoralising grind. Its basically left 4 dead versus but with 4x the server size. Survivors may be tough with all their weaponry but One mistake, and youre being pinned by a smoker

btw,there is a option to skip the radio and skip the daytime sequence in rm too

From what I’ve seen, the main way to enjoy it is just to play with friends and make fun of the game. That’s why gameplay videos of the game, at least to me, and enjoyable. Not because the game is good, but because the gamers add flair to it. It may also be why some people check out the games. The RU-vidrs make it better than it seems.

The first time I saw Weird Strict Dad, I honestly assumed it was supposed to be a parody of something, given how it looks and thought it was made to poke fun at something popular. Seeing actual gameplay doesn't make feel any interest towards playing it. I miss when people made parody games for a fun and lighthearted joke... This game definitely isn't one of those.

Heyy can you do a faithless review? I noticed you keep praising faithless and i agree it is a good game, but it copies a lot of dialogs from faith : the unholy trinity. The father guy's lines are straight up the same as father garcia from the game, even has the shotgun part. I agree faithless is great but considering your high standard i thought you wouldn't like faithless a lot.
