It'd be great to see an in depth testing of the obstacle recognition and how well it works in real world application. With such a rich sensor suite it would be a shame to not give it some time.
Nice tutorial, but I think it could be better if you always announce/show which button you're pushing as you go through the app. There are plenty of times where your app just changes screens with no explanation as to what buttons/menus you're tapping.
Would like to see what minimum clearance height is needed to go under furniture. Ideallly want to put opening under a door as low as possible that would allow vacuum to go under a door.
Thanks! It's good that you can specify cleaning types per room, but I was hoping for finer control; I've got a thin rug that can only handle light suction, it'd be nice to flag that but let it do normal cleaning around it.
idea: first, vacuum and mop your main floor with max suction power and max scrub intensity. second, vacuum the entire upstairs with the same modes, but without the map pad of course. also try bringing the base upstairs as well. what will it do?
Hey, Does roborock have some maintenance info like deebot has? my father in law has a deebot and showed when he needs to clean and replace stuff. Im looking into getting a roborock and it would be nice to know about that
the only thing i need to know is when the F is the ultra dock coming in australia.. my s7 maxv needs a companion and i am so tempted to just buy the old auto dock right now..
Do you know if you can change the mopping direction per room? I have vinyl plank floor with some groove texture. So it would be better if you could wipe with the grain opposed to across the grain.
Hey Adam, there is a Star Trek Easter egg in the pin n go section. It is a shield icon that’s red on the top right. It attacks inferior robot vacuums! So it looks around and if it sees a robot vacuum (ex. Shark Dumb-Q), it will go to it and aggressively bump it. When it sees one, an alarm sound effect goes off and when it hits it, it has a victory sound. Put out all of your bad bad robots (like the Shark IQ, Shark EZ, Shark ION, etc.) and have the s7 MAXV hit all of them. It will be pretty funny!
Can you have a dock on each level? It would be nice to have at least a charging dock on your second level so when done it will charge, never leaving you with a dead robot.
No I have not. Only have one dock. The dock robot combo doesn't come with the charger that comes with the stand alone bot. When I bought the combo it was the same price as if you bought them seperate. Might be a good idea to check the price and by them separate to get the extra charger and test.
Does it keep updating the map in subsequent runs? Say initially I have a big pile of stuff in a section that it treats as a wall. Later when I clear it out, do I have to do another specific mapping run to update the map, or just let it do normal cleanings and it keeps updating?
Have the regular S7, no you cannot do that, even with this one from the vid. Although that's exactly what i manually tell to do when mopping my house. They should add that feature. A workaround i use is set it to vacuum the room and then set a schedule for 15 or 20 min later, you should now how it usually takes to vacuum that room, to mop the room, if you set the schedule for repeat 'once' then it will be deleted after it's finiished.
@@xeon2k8 I also have the S7 and i know its not there, thats why i was asking, because i saw new features in the app..... I will just pop the mop in after vacuuming is finished and run the whole process again. 👍
@@callofmarty that would be idiotic from them that this one has it and not the regular S7, from older Roborocks i had they are not known for crippling old models. You can also insert the mop before vacuuming and you havent got to be pending of when it's done vacuuming for putting the mop.
In future videos could you let us know how to use the mopping and vac features together when you have some rooms with plush carpet connected to rooms with hard floors without getting the carpet wet? This is the only thing that would keep me from buying this model.
Why did you choose that you have pets when you do not have any? The obstacle recognition they refer to, is about identifying pets, so the machine will not disdurb pets. It has nothing to do with identifying all the other objects in the house. That part will be just as good as when not telling the app that you have pets.
