In today's video, I am in Aarhus, Denmark, and have the pleasure of learning about an autonomous farming robot that is leading the way in global agriculture technology. I was able to see Robotti ( a self-driving farming tool) in action!! I am amazed at how far farming has come. The future is now here! This is the coolest farming tool I have ever seen, and am honored to have had the opportunity! I hope you enjoy my video and thank you for watching!

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am an 18-year-old 4th-generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.

I can definitely see where different situations would benefit robotics. I still refuse to use the self check out because that could've been a job for someone. Great video, Kate! The increase of mechanization and introduction of robotics into agriculture has been going on for the last hundred years, increasing in speed the last few decades. When I first started driving tractors in the 1960's cultivating vegetable row crops it was all slow, tedious work with lots of hand labor hoeing by migrant labor. My self on the tractor and a dozen workers with hoes could do about ten to twenty acres per day. When my son did this same job just after the turn of the century, he used auto-steering, GPS, RTK, sub-inch steering, in-row cultivation, plant recognition cameras, and so on to do the job several time faster, more accurately and with less people. In one day, by himself, he was completing over forty acres per day. This was all driven by the lack of reliable and adequate labor as well as the need to produce as much food as possible, as cheaply as possible. Robotics is just not coming, it is here to stay and at 73, I'm excited to see what is next for agriculture. Keep up the good work!

Great interview! This is so interesting! Having lived through the transition from analog to digital, I'm certain that this is a glance into the near future of farming! As w/ all 'new' methods of performing a task, there will be growing pains but those 'learning' situations will only improve the final product. Consider that when the 'pc' was first introduced back in the early to mid 70's, it was comparatively expensive and perceived to be used mainly for 'business' purposes. Now ~ 50 years later, every aspect of personal life is affected by a computer from shopping, driving, medical, entertainment, the list is endless.

Kate, robot worker replacement is nice but think through how to change the farming operation so it doesn't need all the workers nor robot replacements. The automotive industry learned that back in the 1980s -- it required as many technicians (at high pay salary skill sets) to keep the robots working as it did to hire lower pay hourly workers for the shops. Change the way to see farming. Try to get an interview with Rick Clark, I've seen his presentations on a few youtube videos that are easy to find where he goes over his push into full organics and Regenerative Agriculture on 1,200 acres. He contrasted how his old way was something big like six or nine trips across his fields with tillage and chemicals but since changing his methods of operation he does only three trips (plant rye cover, plant beans into the green rye, roll crimp termination of the rye). A robot can still perform those tasks, but does the capital expenditure make as much sense for three passes as it would for nine?

Robots in farming…. its a new technology here as well in the Central Valley California. great grandpa wouldn’t believe it if you told him all of the things that are involved now with the farm.
