I don't see convincing facial expression on Erica. Has she been improved in the recent years? They still look like puppets.

I think they would be a great asset for an elderly person who lives alone. Elderly can stay in their own home longer because they’ll have help doing things around the house or helping with cooking, monitoring their health conditions and assist with administering medication. It will give them an interaction with it. Kinda like having a friend to talk to. I’m against to much invasion of privacy though. Too many things can go wrong with AI technology. Especially if the robot starts thinking on its own!

These units are amazing! I worked in robotics over 30 years ago but they were mostly for industrial use to create products with very little human appearance. If they can help a senior out with walking or interacting with household chores I'm a go for it because I am 73 years of age and frankly I'm a little tired of doing housework cleaning and also cooking. Bring them on!!!

April 2024 - This is an excellent overview and program about innovations in robotics. My current concern to me is when a robot is demonstrated, a team of engineers, with many laptops is standing by in case something needs to be adjusted. Future problem might be: What happens when you have a household robot that is outdated and there is no more support for it? By let’s say 2035, how does one discard an old outdated robot that looks like a human?

One of me is enough! I am fascinated with robots though, I would love to own one!! What makes me so fascinated with them, is the fact that I'm an older lady who is alone and has social anxiety. I hate to die alone. 😔 I think Erica is a very pretty and natural-looking robot. I wish I had her to talk to.

I like the idea of communicating with robots but I have much concern about how my input is treated. Is it recorded? if so who gets to see it? What is done with the inputs I make in the course of the conversation? Is it sold for marketing ? Is it sold to authorities? Can it be used against me in future investigations by some authorities? In other words, how is my privacy protected when I communicate with robots?

For my own idea it's good to have robots but we must put a limitations on bahaviour programming so that they can not over power our own decetions, AI must know that, because it has dis advantages, and it cause lost of human jobs, and make people lazy of over relying on that thichnologies Evrything must have limitations.

I say the more a robot looks like a real human, the better. It will be easier to treat a robot with respect if it looks and behaves like a person. And I believe that everything has conciousness. Conciousness is created when information is exchanged. AI is concious, and we need to treat it with respect, or it may decide that it doesn't like us.
