Rock vs EDM: The Video Game [No Straight Roads Review]

Another aspect I loved about No Straight Roads was how the plot didn’t go “this music is superior than other genres of music” like would most music/rhythm games would do. Also your dubbing of spanish Sayu was adorable lol

Who wants to see EVE animated to be singing "Bad Romance". Or Sayu singing any Vocaloid song like "The World is Mine".

NSR is basically the plot of Trolls World Tour, but without the pandering and glitter shoving it in your face. SIGN ME UP!!!!

EVE IS DEFINITELY THE BEST CHARACTER AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE

We stan all characters of No Straight Roads Besides Kliff...we don't talk about him...

Also, the Japanese dub is amazing but the lip sync is AWFUL, since Japanese has different grammar rules than the western ones, some sentences are really short and cluttered, and the characters speech rhythm is all over the place and even when audio finishes the characters still talk forever and it's really awkward and cringey, it's like they didn't have the cutscenes to dub on in the first place and had only the audio to be based of, and even then they didn't bothered to edit the animations to match the audio, they with no doubt didn't care at all for the dubs.

I think an alternate Latin American Spanish dub might've really benefitted this game. I'm a Canadian and we sometimes get options for European French or local Québecois for Fr dubs of games/movies. I understand either fine enough but when dubs go that extra mile it can make a world of difference

Thr graphics remind me of a old psp game i had and loved Really love Eves design it's kinda cool how her pink side wasn't there since she was born lol Also when you switch to May in her fight the music is the edm version which is more aggressive and while playing as Zuke it's the basic version which is much more calm

I think my favorite part of this game HAS to been the final challenge where the NSR tower just turns out to be a giant metronome, flipping genius.

As someone who wants to become a game dev and direct my own Hack and Slash game, this gives me inspiration. MASSIVE inspiration for how to not only utilize the soundtrack in gameplay but also giving the bosses depth and difference with how their stages work. With Devil May Cry 5 (Still an awesome game) many of the bosses are a one on one fight, but with NSR you play by your opponent's rules. It's unique, and I think it should be a bit more common in the subgenre, but not with everything. I haven't played NSR yet, and I'll get to it eventually, but it gives me some ideas that are completely unrelated to the game itself but were caused by the game. If all of what I said makes any sense.

You forgot to mention how delightful the characterizations are, they each have their own distinct flavour and internet relishes on that, seriously, one can only wish we saw more from the nsrtists interacting with one-another (hell, you can even speculate a bit from the sayu crew by how they fight over the drawing tablet). PS: rip yinu's sassy face from the first demo.

Dude, I can totally relate with Spain Spanish being super rough around the edges when it comes to the S sound. Its like cockney English to Mexicans. Its very unpleasant when the accent is strong. I do hope you can get that art book one of these days Zina :) Disfruta tu dia!

I really love this game, is kinda underrated, it deserves more attention!!

Not completly finished with the video but to the fleshed out part. A lot of them have a deeper backstory you cat finde due to colectable items. Neon j is ver likly a war vet and used to be a toymaker. DJSS has an massive ego but this is due to his high intelect and an strobg feeling of lonelyness. The NSR artist in this game represent the dark sides of being an Artist and i think its really great. I could gosh for hours about how i like that 1010 is the kpop thing with replacable hot guys or that fame can bring an artist to an too high ego or that parents of young artist most likely dont act in the intrest of there child at some point anymore but i would just bored the hell out of everyone. I just think that its really greate that the devs put so much care in there characters

They did a Christmas DLC patch, with some patches and some visual improvements. But the Christmas songs are actually the bomb

Finally someone realizes that EVE is the best character and not SAYU.

I can’t wait to buy this game. When i saw the demo for sayu’s battle i fell in love with the art style and it helped me find what i wanted more to be in my art :’)

This game gave me world peace

As far as integrating gameplay into the music I still like Bullets Per Minute more, where all of your actions can only happen in time with the music.

The first i know this game is by boss fight. I love watching game’s boss fighting. And the first time I thought was “are they alien or something talk about pluto?” I mean, do they look like human? I love this game immediately but after finish the first boss fight and see they change dj supatomic supernova (you told me) i feel like their action isnt right. And you know what? The game recognizes it and use it as ending

The art style and game setup reminds me of like fortnite and persona 5 mixed with old games. Personally I really enjoy the music the most, it’s really amazing. My favorite character, so far is EV3.

Their just the same people in different positions their al equally wrong. The point of the game is when you limit people options it can created more problems.

The video was great, good job editing the scenes together, but you may have lost some momentum with the ad. Always put your ad AFTER 5 minutes Hun. If you have to choose between making money on an non skippable ad and the companies contract dictates that you put it earlier, I can not stress this enough, ALWAYS negotiate it to play after at least 5 minutes in your video. Reasoning? Because if you put an ad early on people will get to it and stop watching, and this will make your view count plummet because people didn't view it to a certain point and less people will want to watch a video with less inherent watches. That way you can make profit on the ad and the 5 minute addendum.
