The performance gets money for food, clothes and luxuries from the audience members that appreciate their service. How that gets distributed is worked out between the performers, producers, workers and unions. It may not be fair but it works better than having a third party management family shut it down before it starts because it violates their secular philosophies. Or if they allow it, having them manage the wealth extracted from their 'human capital' to distribute it based on their own pedantic interests.
