A mile and a half? I'm old and fat and I'd walk that without a second thought. But then I grew up on the farm and walked two miles back and forth to school every day-uphill both ways! If you ever get back there and can find it, I'll buy or swap that purple banded rock you tossed back. (11:30) It's right handsome.

@@CurrentlyRockhounding I have finally reached the point where I am being more selective in my searches. If I cannot tumble or there isn't slice-able pieces, I leaverite. I don't know why but u look crazy familiar. Do u and ur wife often hound around the NW? Working in construction I've been spoiled by the waterproofing gods. Since my job is right after concrete is poured but before its backfilled has graced Me with some amazing gifts. The amount of amazing stones that get used as backfill kinda hurts. Most people that see me with my magical lil water bottle and my rock hammer usually just stop and watch me with the most hilariously confused look. And then once they muster up the courage to ask me what I'm doing then my fun begins. I love being able to just show what beauty is right underfoot that most people will never even notice. My new personal favorite saying is "of all the Rocks I could be addicted to, I think these are probably best." ANYONE STILL READING:: Anyone in OR or WA know any good places to go dig some obsidian, that's legal? Have some projects coming up that some hand dug obsidian would be perfect on.
