HALSB is the best on Rocksmith, because he's got determination, he won't put a song on You Tube until he get's it 100%, he will play it 200 times he need's to.
I watch this video every month I think to remind me that all things are possible... not for me a mere mortal, but god damn if this isn’t the most impressive thing ever.
Oh my god dude, you're a fucking god! I never heard this song, the ending sweep picking was awesome, and because I suck at sweep picking, the ending killed me just from listening. xD Congratz from Brazil!
Does anyone know how i could find music like this song from 4 minutes? (Instrumenal or not, doesn't matter) I'm just not a fan of the supes heavy stuff like the beginning of the song. The end absolutely blew my mind! Thanks in advance!
Hey halsb could you help me please or anybody else? For the very last sweep starting on the low E: Ab, B, D, Ab, B, D, what is your fingering? The reason I ask is because for one of the other sweeps (the 3rd one), I had to change the fingering because it wasn't effective/doable on higher speeds for me. I looked at your vid, copied the fingering and now it feels way better! I tried looking at you fingers at .25 speed for the last sweep, but it's too blurry to tell. Is it: Pinky (Ab), Ring Finger (B), Index (D), Ring Finger (Ab), Middle (B), Index (D)??? Please help
dude...... very impressive...... but can u record some DT song?? would be nice to see another person besides petrucci doing those fockin' solos. Did u started to play guitar on rocksmith or just use interface of the game to learn faster??
Hey Halsb, I saw on the Rocksmith Holiday special that you said to Brian Podie that you thought "Play With Me" by "Extreme" was the hardest song in Rocksmith. Is that still the case or has this surpassed it?
I never said Play with Me was the hardest song in the game. I said it was harder than Selkies, which Poedy considered to be the hardest. I'd say For the Love of God by Steve Vai is harder then those songs though.
Not anytime soon. I don't find it that fun to play and some parts are charted weird. If I ever get it, it will only be if I'm ever good enough to play it without a ton of practice
Oddly enough, I REALLY want to see this song revisited with your new guitar, I've noticed that the new guitar just sounds sooo much better than the old one and wonder how it would sound on this song.
+halsb thanks man. Who is your biggest influence on playing guitar? Btw what model Dimebag is that? I have a couple but they both need truss rod adjustments
I'm still watching this video this till day since day one that you released this video, can't believe 7 years already passed, I still remember how amazed I was the first time that I saw this
I need some help. I've been playing guitar for about two years now and am an ametuer shredder. But I have hit a wall where my regialr technique and my quick palm mute technoque are very different. I am finding it very difficult to plam mute quickly without the high e ringing out. if I use my pinky to mute it then the pick slants too far down and it is hard to get consistent, strong contact with the string. Do you have any suggestions cause I've tried and tried and can't seem to fix it
You should be muting with both your fretting hand and picking hand. Switch between one and the other depending on what you are playing. Do you have a specific song or lick where you are having this problem? It might be easier for me to tell what the problem is if I know the lick
Tim Mauk you mute the higher strings with your fretting hand and the lower strings with your picking hand/Palm. Ben Eller has a video on muting, check that out.
halsb Yes I mutr with both hands but in instances such as in nightmare when there is the palmuted 6-3-5-3-5-3-0 portions when I hit the palm muted 0 it sometimes rings out because I can't quite get the mute. Strangely though today I went to play, I switched to a new sharp pick, and my speed increased tremendously and I was way cleaner. I think my problem was my pick. Thanks for the reply!
halsb Not to mention I have devoted much of my practice time trying to perfect this technique by playing lots of thrash like metallica which has helped as well. Like they say practice makes perfect. It is just odd that I feel I made progress after writing the comment finally. I guess the first step in solving a problem is recognizing there is one
Do you ever think you will tackle a Slayer song at all? Or do you think they're too easy for you? I am currently 2nd for Seasons in the Abyss with 1,800,000+ points and I'm working on the second part of the solo as well as the clean parts too.
