Brian Cadd, Paul Dempsey, Olympia, Vika and Linda Bull, and the RocKwiz Orkestra featuring Ashley Naylor cover Neil Young's classic anthem to close out RocKwiz Salutes the Legends of Canada on SBS June 11 2016.
There are so many useless shows on television involving talking heads trying to be funny about inane topics. Bring back Rockwiz and live performance! This is one of many brilliant performances I am regularly re-living. For those looking for an epic performance of this song, look up the Pearl Jam cover when Neil Young comes on mid way.
I love seeing these veteran Australian performers presented like this and showing their substance. Decades of commitment and polish - and talent, on display.
A Neil Young classic done by one hell of a band and with Vika and Linda singing you know the backup vocals are going to another level. l hope Neil got to see this one it'd give him chills.
Wow you Aussies sure know how to rock in the free world. You guys brought the house down. How nice to see these rockers thoroughly having a jolly good night.
This is up there with Bon Jovi - Pearl Jam and Neil Young these guys should feel bloody proud of what they have done here - and there aint no words I can find for the guitarists rendition of the song - well done guys !!!!100%
Simply stunning. Paul, Brian and Olympia totally rocked that with the Bull girls just doing doing what they do best! Loved the orchestra's version and the way they totally got into the song. Even saw Mark Ferrie get up and move!
It's no accident that so many great covers of Neil Young and bands such as the Rolling Stones are done on Rockwiz. Great songwriters and performers that command respect which is returned in spades by the Rockwiz performers. Fantastic rendition!
What a great format....warm, cozy and intimate with that amazing pool of aussie talent!...not like the over produced, sterile fare we're offered in Canada and US. Australia.....home of my favorite band...Divinyls and Chrissie Amphlett.....rip.
Shot at the Espy Hotel in St Kilda. One of the great night's out to be in the audience. Sadly, the public broadcaster on which it aired cancelled it's production 😭
How I wished we had that here in the states !!! These guys and girls have got it going on and they absolutely nail it Everytime . So much talent and I believe I've seen a couple of those guys playing with Beth Hart .....I know the Bass player has and I think the lead guitar player did to !! Either way they got it !
Thanks Wendell, you may not realise it but these performances all happen at the end of a one hour music trivia TV show. Same with Beth Hart who appeared on a live show we did at BluesFest. This particular episode of the show featured questions and music from Canada.
@@RocKwizTV I think I saw that and it was Beth Hart singing I'd rather go blind .. Either way this is by far the best thing I've ever seen when it comes to music and Trivia . So keep jamming out cause I could watch this 7/24
To be correct, they are Australians with a strong sense of their Tongan heritage. Tonga is a place I can recommend Aussies visit - great beaches and diving/snorkelling, and swimming with humpback whales is a glorious thing.....
Fun Fact When Les Paul was trying to figure out how to get longer sustain he knew he would need to make it heavy so he strung up a piece of rail road track to test it.
Wow this was quite the collection of stars! You had Jerry Garcia resurrected, and he joined Gwen Stefani, and Jeff Goldblum(I didn't even know he could sing or play the guitar like that) ;🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. They put on quite the show 5 years ago "down under".
Sorry Pam, Ash is simply signaling there will be 5 final beats right at the end of the song by showing 5 fingers. Count them. He would never stop that feedback - it's perfectly controlled. Brilliant rendition. Brilliant.
oh yea, Paul see you at next Saints game, to vika and linda - see u at out the Back at Woolami, to Mr Cad, i never liked you but now i do, Olympia - i'm now a fan
