Hey Frank,
It looks like he is probably having petit mal seizures. There's no way to say without imaging, but based on his age/breed/symptoms he most likely has a growth which is causing dynamic interference with his cerebral cortex, i.e. the symptoms come and go. A common growth type which can have this type of effect is a meningioma, a benign outcropping of the protective layer around the brain which can act like a finger pushing a8 button on the brain surface. Specific symptoms depend on which area of the brain is being affected.
Our options are 1) To continue monitoring him or 2) begin anti-seizure therapy such as phenobarbital, keppra or zonsamide. There are no guarantees that the treatments will help, though, and they will definitely cause a moderate to profound degree of sedation, especially in the first few days of therapy. This might be a good idea if he continues to have progressive seizure type events but otherwise maintains a good quality of life. Option 3) of course is to have him checked out by a neurology service.
Keep us up to date,
