This song means a lot to me, when my little brother died young, we all kinda adopted this song. I know we applied it different than it was intended, but we know Allen will be forever young and this song helped us through the grieving process, thank you for reacting to it. Please listen to sailing by Rod Stewart.

I chose the live version because I wanted you to see his energy. He is in his 70's and is still touring. His Dad was Scottish and his Mom English. You can call him whatever you please he is down to earth and I. don't. think he will mind. He learned 6 chords on. a guitar and has written lots of hit. songs. He wants to be remembered for his songwriting abilities.

Rod Stewart is a Scotsman who used to play soccer as an amateur but was pretty darned good. He has that husky voice that is unique and he sings all kinds of songs, subjects. He has a whiskey voice, which is the best way I'd describe it. He's rough, tough, much-loved and has numerous kids.

Rod singing Grace, great song, great story, and its a true one, to be honest I shouldn't be into this song because it's an Irish republican rebel song and I'm a unionist Ulsterman from the north but they seem to have all the best songs, lol, what the hell, if it's good its good, and it was a long time ago, wars over(I THINK) well I hope it is anyway, that's enough political bull, the song about the 1916 rebellion in Dublin, one of the rebels was to be executed and made a request to get married to his sweetheart Grace, they had 15 minutes together under guards supervision before he was taken out and shot

One of my first concerts my mom took meand he was singing in the round and he was running all over the stadium kicking soccer balls everywhere I'd say 1990 so kind of the height of his later half of his career starting since he's been around since the 70s, if I was going to recommend a Rod Stewart song it would be either early Rod "every picture tells a story" or later "Motown Song" I have different memories and feelings with both if I'm just kind of chilling out the first one but if I just want to dance and have fun and just me and my guy Motown Song. Other requests if you've already done one of themjust move on to the next one I can't track everything that you've done enough tried to see its many of all of your types of videos but that's a lot so requesting "Right Down the Line'" by Gerry Rafferty, "I love you" by Climax Blues Band, "The Weight" by the Band, and I'm going to be the one to go ahead and do it "Tangled up in Blue" Bob Dylan (nobody wants to request a Dylan it seems but that's a really great story song) more upbeat "Don't mess around with Jim" Jim Croce or "Every Little Kiss/Mandolin Rain combo Bruce Hornsby, "Back in the High Life" Steve Winwood. For driving songs try "Drivers Seat" by Sniffn' the Tearsthat's an early eighties song that was featured on an episode of The walking dead and I actually made a comeback after 40+ years there's a story. Maybe one of those will make the cut I don't have the money to do Patreon at this time but I totally support what you're doing both channels and get why this part matters it leads to testimonies and sharing. *Faith based comment coming*: I'm a music lover in English lit major I also studied film but disability medical got so bad I couldn't work but I love sharing stories with people and information about these things when I can and my faith always comes first and since you also have a faith based Channel I just want to say to the "religious" Spirit out there instead of the faith spirit that telling somebody that they're not yet healed from a genetic disease because their faith isn't strong enough that's not how things work God has unique plans for everything and one day I will be as perfect as He wants me but right now it's been used for a lot of purposes that either they were difficult or testimony that helped someone else I see God in all of the things that have transpired with that but there are people that say since Jesus already healed you on the cross you should just instantly be healed if you have faith for it and that can be a dangerous things to keep telling somebody for 25 plus years with incurable rare illness to say you seen people healed before it's one thing but I ran into someone who was talking about healing and also said they prophesied and not saying it's not possible that they got the word from God they gave to someone else but the Holy Spirit isn't a slot machine and what was prophesied over me didn't happen and it wasn't my lack of faith...moral of that story it's about your own personal relationship with the Lord fellowship is great necessary but don't ever let someone else try to move into place it should be for Jesus alone. *End of faith comment*

Ok. I saw Rod twice in concert. Once he was sooo good, better than I had expected! So i went a second time a few years later. He was so f’ing drunk he fell off the stage in the first song & couldnt go on. It was awful but kinda funny! He’s been around forever (no pun intended).. he has a flair to his performances. I loved in his Unplugged when he was saying how old his next song was by saying, “wow this song was done when? God i was young, me wife was only 1!” Lol.. hes a riot actually. And i dig a lot of his 70’s stuff, Stay with Me is my fave, Do ya think Im Sexy, or 80’s, Baby Jane or Young Turks... bless him standing the test of time & this song is great.. the lyrics are super sentimental to me.. and now as a mom Even more so, i just think of my son & i ALMOST tear up.. which isnt my style... shhhh 🤫🥺😊
