Oh it still works... When my now 3 1/2 year old son was riding his rollercoaster while still in utero, I'd play this & gently rub my belly. He'd calm down. When he was first born same thing... I'd play this & he'd drift off to sleep... Tonight (8-10-20) he was fighting sleep....He woke up to potty & didn't want to go back to sleep. So I put him on my belly rubbed his back & head while playing this album & within 3 songs... He's out like a light. I'm so amazed it still works. Thank you GOD for giving me Jacob. He is absolutely the BEST that has ever happened to me. He's gonna love Rod Stewart as much as I do.
Some day when I'm awfully low When the world is cold I will feel a glow just thinking of you And the way you look tonight You're lovely with your smile so warm And your cheeks so soft There is nothing for me but to love you And the way you look tonight With each word your tenderness grows Tearing my fears apart And that laugh that wrinkles your nose Touches my foolish heart Yes, you're lovely, never ever change Keep that breathless charm Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you
Some people think he shouldn't be singing these standards, that he doesn't have the voice for them. I have heard many artists do these from crooners to gravel-voiced Louis Armstrong and Jimmy Durante. Since Rod started in show business doing rock songs, he should be able to handle anything. I think he knows his way around these standards and I think his style of selling a song has changed to handle these. I have most of his Great American Songbook CDs and some of his versions of the standards are better versions of them that many pop singers' version. And, of course, he has great musicians setting the moods for him.
@@69bobrI agree. He has matured well, and the collection of most of the greatest songs of the 20th century, up to and including his own hits, which were loved by many, including myself, is a MAJOR accomplishment. Sir Rod has left a great legacy, which I pray 🙏 the auto-tuners will leave alone. It should remain for our great musical history, embodied by the 20th century. Hopefully people who would never have heard this will someday get the chance to hear it as it was meant to be heard. Thanks to Rod. Always an excellent singer in my opinion. ❤🎼🎶
At first when I saw he sang this Sinatra Classic I cringed But I was in for a delightful surprise he sings this with such articulation and beauty. A beautiful arrangement kudos to the orchestra and director

I'm dedicating this song to my lovely mum who would have been 100 years old today - this was her favourite song, as my dad used to sing it to her when they were courting. RIP mum - miss you loads. xxxxxxxxxx

Estas personas que critican quienes son .y que les da el valor moral .sabrán de música a mi me encanta y tengo todos los años para haber oído todas las versiones y me encanta
The songs Rod put together so successfully is nothing short of amazing. I never thought to hear them again and he does it so beautifully that I feel I was there. I only know them from my parents, but I fell in love with them.
The love of my life sang this while playing a piano wherever we were in the world, as young people that were both musicians & dancers. Plz dont die without me, call me!.
I hope he's immortal, the day he dies, we will lose the Greatest Singer of All Time. Sadly he's as well Truly Irreplacable. There's Only One Rod & One Rod Only!!!
Claudia Mendoza It's the same with my family! I can still picture it: standing at the kitchen table, peeling potatoes, the cold air coming in from the open window, this playing this album and if we were lucky, there was a little snow outside. It's a memory I don't think will ever fade. Thank you for bringing it rushing back. :)
