Shortest interview I've ever watched. Roddy was so interesting the minutes flew by as though they were nano seconds. I only wish we had another 6 hours of him talking... brilliant man...not only did he live through the movie business he also understood and articulated it like no one else I've ever heard.

Just adored Mr McDowall since I was a little girl. My favoritest...I would snip pictures of him from magazines, the TV Guide, and put them in notebooks-even on my lampshade next to my bed! I knew he was "A Confirmed Bachelor", didn't matter at all. He was a fascinating, incredibly brilliant man, so gifted, so regal, so deep. Thank you so very much for sharing this interview with us. Miss him so much.

Excellent ! Thank you again . Roddy McDowell's knowledge of film and film stars is encyclopedic but it is also graced with his personal insights and experience. I have often read how he was a close friend of many stars. Now I can see why after watching him speak so lovingly about his friends associates and the industry.

To use one of Roddy's own words, fascinating! Such an intelligent, articulate, and gentle man with such a great knowledge and understanding of Hollywood and it's stars. I could listen to him forever and not be bored. Great interview.

This series of interviews is nothing short of brilliant. You know, he's been gone for a while now, and I still miss him, and I've never heard *anyone* say anything bad about him. That takes some doing in such a competitive, sometimes ugly business.

I have to ask: what was so very funny in an earlier clip that had everyone in stitches, laughing? Roddy was so spontaneous and open in this amazing interview. Thanks for sharing.

The uploader answers the question in a previous comment here. Apparently he was laughing at some playful dogs in the house.

He has clarified the profession for me. Interesting take on the profession of acting and like any profession you must study with a passion and practice. There is a difference in wanting stardom and fame and just wanting to be an actor.

Great interview! Very interesting fellow and tremendous ability to articulate his thoughts and memories. They just don't make em' like that anymore.

Thank you SO much and very happy that you enjoyed it- please search RU-vid for "Hollywood 1965 Offline Assembly" and "Roddy McDowall 1965 Home movies" if you are a Roddy fan- :)

Dear Nic- thank you so much for your kind words- they are most sincerely appreciated! We've been trying to raise funds for a doc feature showcasing Roddy's personal home movie footage- to which he gave us exclusive access- with our interviews- just search RU-vid for: Hollywood 1965 Offline Assembly You'll see an 8 minute sample edit there. Warmest Regards, Luke Sacher

Oh for the Studio days again... MGM was like a University. If you weren't working on a picture, you were learning- how to ride, or swim, or dance... or write or shoot or edit or produce or direct! :)

To Wolfie 238: Hi Anita! Could not reply to your comment on Roddy's interview- you must have a block on your comments? I sympathize and empathize completely. RU-vid is overrun with simply dreadful people... "trolls"... I think that I saw Roddy last in early 1997? Janet Leigh was like an aunt to me- my grandfather Abner Biberman was Tony Curtis' first drama coach... If you'd like, please call or write directly and I'll be happy to fill you in on all the details. :) soapbxprod@aol.com 603-585-3057 I'm also on Facebook, the iMDB, and LinkedIn. :) Warmest Regards and best wishes to you and yours- Luke Sacher

This interview is priceless as are the home movies. I try to share them with anyone who I think may find them interesting. (my dad being one. He then went ahead and watched Inside Daisy Clover and enjoyed it very much.) Luke, was this the last time you saw and spoke to Roddy before his passing? How did you find out about it, through media or personal friends? Just wondering. :) *Anita*
