I have the procastor and I definitely think finding the sweet spot, off to the side etc when talking helps more than a pop filter, the low end is high already so I get some people when they say the pop filter can make it sound worse. Both are great mics, have both. Cool vid dude

i honestly think that procaster is the best under valued podcast mic- black friday deal made it more sweet =D cheers!

The Procaster is my favorite mic. Sounds equivalent to (or better than) the Shure SM7b, at half the price. It absolutely benefits from a Cloudlifter or Fedhead or some kind of extra boost if your mixer can't deliver clean gain at higher levels. I sold all my Podmics and replaced them with Procasters after I heard the difference.

agree with you! i use a podtrak p8 for podcasting- it was a built in booster atleast +20 db, no need for cloud lift on my end. but definitely the procaster is a stud!

@@BenjieMoreno Yeah, the P8 looks sweet! My crappy mixer had a lot of hiss when I turned up the gain, so Cloudlifters helped a lot. I'm going to try out that extra foam hack. Thanks for the video!

I really liked the sound of the Rode Procaster. Coincidentally I'm trying to decide between the Procaster and the Audio Technica AT875r for voice over and podcasting. I noticed you have both. Which do you prefer for this applications? Also, I read online that the AT875r is hotter so I might not need to buy a fathead while with the Rode most people recommend a fethead to go with it. My interface is the Zoom U22, so about 50db gain max. What's your experience with these mics with and without a fethead? Thank you for your time!!

podcasting no doubt procaster wins for me. voice over i will lean on at875r given you have some room treatment. very sensitve shotgun mic. i have stopped using cloud booster on podcast- i upgraded to zoom podtrak p8- but in the past i have paired all my dynamic mic with ss cloud lifter with zoom h6.

podcast session (actual use of microphone) note i added more layer of foam inside the microphone, atleast half thickness overall 1 1/2 thickness of foam ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oQNXf_VHd6Y.html

Can you use the procaster without a pre amp?
