I've worked for and employed a lot of crew chiefs in my 28 years of NASCAR Cup racing, and I can promise you that this man is perhaps the classiest and most knowledgeable of most all. Not only do I value him as a friend and teammate, but I equally admire him and how he carries himself. His credibility within our sport is fully backed up by his dedication, hard work and the way he treats his team. It's refreshing and admirable. Any team within our garage will be absolutely lucky to have him join their operation and that goes for Josh Berry, as well. Before this year is fully over, you will see more of what I am talking about.

Rodney probably has 3-4 teams in his DMs already. He’s a top 10 Crew Chief all time, he will be fine. The driver that lands Mr. Childers becomes a favorite overnight.
How’s he a top 10 crew chief of all time. You don’t pay attention, he’s an awful in race decision maker who never makes the right late race calls. He’s probably a bottom 5 crew chief

That man right there is the epitome of a true southern gentleman. It would be criminal for whoever buys that charter, to not keep the core of this team together. Driver, crew chief and road crew.
Rodney said something that to me was a bit chilling. The fact that not many years ago they had resume's and waiting list for engineers and shop people but now days they have trouble finding help and even keeping them in cup. Love to hear Jr's take on that
Rodney is going to get a job, his resume speaks for himself (that Ford 700th cup win headline in the camera shot is a nice touch), its everyone else that is going to struggle.
Ford needs to put up some scratch to keep Rodney in the ford camp or this is a massive L. In fact they should be working tirelessly to keep all the best personnel. SHR closing is already bad for ford.
It's not dumb. Gene is getting somewheres between 20 to 30 million a piece for the charters. Without that it would be the shop, haulers, chassis, Bodies and parts plus tools and that's not much money really
I keep hearing that no one wants to work on cup teams anymore, but my though is; if they arent getting people, increase the pay until it attracts who they want?
the issue is the teams dont get enough of the tv contract money in order to pay drivers, crew and engineers like they used to. f1 gets alot of the pie.
Harvick and the 4 team literally kept the lights on at shr. has a long time Harvick fan its sad to see shr implode like this. Not a huge fan of josh berry but a huge fan of Rodney and he most likly will have a team to go to.I really hope Gragson finds a ride. That guy without the penalty would be the highest running shr car in points right now. briscoe and Gragson prolly have the most sponsorship money to bring to the table. Josh has Rodney in his camp and it appears preece is the odd man out.
The sport was gatekeeped for decades by only hiring friends and family and wanting free labor out of everyone else to ‘prove’ themselves. The shortage of mechanics interested is Nascar teams reaping what they sowed.

looks like tony stewart has found a more rewarding place to put his money by going full nhra- more fun for a racer going full all out that stage "racing" and restrictorplates racing where a stage winnier can get more points in a race than the race winner.lolol thumbs up tony
I mean this could have been prevented if Gene sold his F1 team. The base cost of operating that F1 team could have fully funded 6 high caliber teams for an entire season with money left over. It’s just sad
Genes primary focus is promoting his ACTUAL business, and his F1 team exists to do just that on the worldwide market. I bet Gene sees a much bigger ROI investing in F1 than in NASCAR. It sucks as a NASCAR fan of Harvick and his former associates but it is what it is.
im sure several team owners are salivating over the prospect of attracting some SHR employees.especially rodney.he's proven his worth time & time again.i wish ALL the SHR employees quick & satisfying employment for next year.even WITHOUT tony & genes attention, they seem to be running much better this year compared to the last couple seasons.& the xfinity teams are doing great again this year.
When Gibbs and hendrick are winning 60% of the championships and have double the employees of a four car team like Stewart hass, I think maybe nascar has a big big problem
Greed and politics ruined NAsCar. Rodney is a class act who will help his team in any way he can. He is committed to Josh. He means it when he says Josh won't fail on his watch. He is a man of his word.
The team guys were so close to the situation that I think many of them didn't see the writing on the wall. I thought this was in the works over a year ago. Stewart and Haas both became absentee owners as both had many other distractions taking them away from the Cup and Xfinity. Then Harvick was the only man there who acted like glue for the company. So between S&H distractions and Harvick retiring at the end of last year, all the teams started down the Lame Duck path I don't know if anything has been absolutely confirmed yet on who is buying the charters. Maybe, I just haven't heard myself. But those team will need drivers, pit crews, shop men, to fill they new teams. And these SH guys are al extremely talented. So I would doubt many will need to look to hard to find a spot somewhere. Too soon to know who will get sniped by other teams early during this season or who will stay till the end of 24. If people start leaving in droves will SH still have enough people to complete the season? Either way, I would bet that both Tony and Gene don't care. Both are wealthy beyond filthy and the team ' really isn't on their radar anymore.
@@johnhaas2523 Brad might not, but John Henry's Fenway Sports Group is worth over 7 billion. I think they could come up with enough to buy a charter. RFK is slowly working their way up to being the top Ford team through the efforts of Brad and the team. Adding the #4 group to the fold could make them a powerhouse

But honestly, I want a Rodney/Noah pair up with a Ford Team (since Ford now has $ to re-allocate in NASCAR....Where you think that is now going) They would be an awesome match up.
It’s surely understandable that Gene and Tony are now more interested in other forms of racing than NASCAR. If the tv money that Nascar receives were to be paid out to teams more equitably and if it where possible for team owners to receive a reasonable return on their investment perhaps Tony and Gene would have hired someone to run this team and not liquidate it.
I know it's a pipe dream, but it just seems like such the perfect opportunity for Dale JR to jump to cup. Charters may never be this cheap again, Josh Berry is up for grabs, if JR gets a charter and signs Berry it just seems like a match made in heaven
Thought the link to Dale Earnhardt Sr night from 1987 was cool at the La Crosse Speedway. I grew up at that track watching Trickle race every Wednesday night
It's not that people don't want to work especially in NASCAR it's they can find better jobs for more money and better benefits. NASCAR with all races being inund and can't make big changes not much to do to the cars anymore at the track unless need to fix something and another thing is only 1 buy week other than this year so next year they go from Daytona and get off for Easter and then not off again until November

Dale dose not do a show on Thursdays. Thursday is the Dale Jr download reloaded. I don't think this would be her first time ever interviewing Rodney since she is I believe local sports reporter
I believe NASCAR is the reason Stewart Hass made this decision. I wouldn’t be surprised to see others do the same over the next few years. On another note Carlas nickname should be light bright, she’s so beautiful that I bet she glows in the dark.
Based on Rodney's comments here and Kevin's comments at the All Star race as well as on his podcast, I am extremely disappointed in Smoke. I thought he had a higher character than this.
I don’t think Smoke could do any more. Gene’s F1 team just hemmoraghes money and he insisted on keeping that team instead of the nascar teams. That F1 team costs Gene at a base minimum 135 million a year while a cup team only costs 20 million.
The relationship between Tony and NASCAR has soured over the years. I don' think is has anything to do with Tony's character. Harvick said the ownership wasn't invested in the management of the team. It's probably best they move on.
Rodney said the state of Cup where they had resumes to go through to now people not wanting any part of it! That’s a deep insider sign that the sport is not doing well!
Rodney is a really good crew chief..where as Josh Berry is a ok driver but not in same class as Kyle Larson..Denny Hamlin..Chase Elliot..William Byron..and so on..really nobody in that Stewart Haas drivers are legit...just average

I really want to see Josh and rodney with JRM. Stewart and Haas keep the 1 charter lease it to JRM they switch to chevy which they never should have never left.
