I have this newfound respect for federer. I have just witnessed a player who is so calm and collected and how he manages to make the groundstrokes seem so laid back and stress free, i have not seen that in any other player. This guy completely baffles me. On top of that he has the most calm demeanour that i have seen in any player since probably the sampras days. I knew that he was good but he really is something else and i am utterly baffled by his presence. He is most definitely GOAT.

Not only Novak, Nadal also won more Slams than Federer. If we consider GOAT to be a subjective thing, the three of them are GOATs in their own way. Federer is the King of elegance and magic, Nadal is the Top G (top gladiator) with his brutal style and fighting spirit, while Novak is simply a machine, a robot who achieved a terminator-like game. Now, if we consider GLAT to be something objective, Novak Djokovic is the GOAT, Nadal is the second grestest and Federer the third greatest as per the numbers.

Federer's ability to hit the backhand half-volley with complete command, power, touch and control, meant he never had to take a backward step to hit his backhand, which always caught his opponent by surprise. His backhand down the line off a cross court was also a sublime regular winner. Just when you have him stretched he proves to be at his most dangerous.

That passing half volley shot from the baseline won so many points down the line, I bet more than 50% of these points came from variations of that shot. It’s one of his most deadly weapons

I miss the old times... Federer was just phenomenal in 2004-06. In 2007 he dropped his level a bit, as well as his consistency. Between 2010-11 his level was great but his consistency was not even near that, and between 2014-16 his consistency was great but his level of tennis wasn't as before.

Duy Anh Hoàng yes and I am agreeing with you. Feds backhand was too defensive and inconsistent between 2010-2013 (was considered a weakness and was targeted by Nadal and Djokovic) but when he switched to the bigger racquet head it made his backhand great again.
