What a classy guy. There's nothing not to like about him, and remember, english isn't his first language and he speaks it PERFECTLY! For someone who dedicated their every waking minute to pro sports to have found the time and energy to master other languages is admirable to say the least. Wow! I just bought a RF 97 signature series racquet yesterday for my collection, in addition to a Yonex Ezone 98 Tour. Bought it, in homage of the three greatest serve- and- volley players with all court games that each raised the bar in modern tennis: Stefan Edberg, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer. I was lucky enough to see Roger Federer defend his AO title, in Melbourne in 2018.Looking forward to seeing the Swiss maestro back on the Tour and Down under, in the near future.🎾

I switched to the 2016 RF97 from the Burn 100S and that racquet wasn't my cup of tea for some reason then I switched into the 2019 RF97 laver cup edition the red one and that thing is a Monster! It's huge firepower everywhere and my accuracy is incredible. Serve it is just outrageous too. Only criticism is the Matt Paint. Since there's no lacquer on it it really isn't durable at all from minor scuffs I prefer metallic finish by miles. Overall it's incredible.

We enjoyed it with Luxilon ALU Power, Wilson Revolve, and Solinco Hyper-G.Volkl Cyclone or Cyclone Tour, Head Lynx Tour, and Kirschbaum Xplosive Speed are good choices as well. I use the PS v13 and I like it, but I used to use the RF but stopped because I’m getting older and thought I’d go a little lighter but sometimes I feel like I want to add lead tape but can’t quite figure out where to put it and how much. If I put to much weight then I may as well use the RF. I’m an all court player with a little bit of power and I was using Clash for a while but went back to PS. Power AND control is what I need
@z1az285
@z1az285 Год назад
This may mean nothing really, but i saw a video on YT where someone had Rogers red and black 1st gen frame and he opened up the bumper guard (3 grams of lead under the hoop). I don't remember what the frames balance was but it made sense. I use 4 grams lead on the sides, but i want stability without maximizing the swingweight. I think that frame had silicone in the handle too, not foam

Great stuff! I wanted to ask Chris if he thinks this would be an appropriate racquet for a female with two handed forehand. I asked him about a different racquet and he gave me great suggestions. I hear this racquet is good for those with compact strokes. Just looking for a suitable racquet that requires a short compact stroke but can still have depth. Thanks!
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse 3 года назад
If she can handle the weight then yes it would be a good fit. I find it easier to hit with depth and pace with a compact two-handed shot with something heavier like this as the weight does most of the work. With that said, the RF spec is pretty beefy so I would strongly advise demoing in long practice and match situations first to make sure it's the right choice. If that's not possible and you have doubts, go with the regular 97 and then weight it up to taste. Cheers, Chris, TW.

Since this is just a cosmetic update ( from my understanding) I am looking at the RF97 2016 version. There is a pretty good deal on it right now. But I am debating if I should get that or the Head Graphene 360+ Gravity Pro, which seems to have similar rating, but 18/20 string bed and seems also more spin friendly from my understanding. And just a tad lighter as well. Plus that paint job is exquisite. My current racket of choice is the Babolat aero pro drive, so with the slightly bigger head size of the Gravity I think I would feel more at home swinging that racquet. On the other hand, people seem to like a lot the RF97 for serves and volleys and I am looking right now to change a few mechanics of my serve. So I am not really sure what to choose. Really torn right now. And advice TW ?
@tenniswarehouse
@tenniswarehouse 3 года назад
@Adrian P, There really isn't anything comparable to the RF97...so if that is the racquet you want, I would suggest getting that. The Gravity Tour will feel a lot different and both racquets will feel very different compared to your APD. Do note, the RF97 will be the the heftiest and most challenging to swing as it is heavy and packs some plowthrough. Michelle, TW
@apotra20xx
@apotra20xx 3 года назад
Tennis Warehouse is the RF97 forgiving with serves ? I am a bit worried about a shorter head size, compared to the Babolat I'm used to. This would mean that the sweetspot is also narrower. As I've said, I'm trying to change some of my serve mechanics cause I'm not feeling to confident, especially on 2nd serves. Would the RF97 help me to build it up or rather hinder me because of the lower swing rate and weight ?

The Yonex VCORE Pro 97 is a good option. And if you want a very arm friendly option, the Volkl C10 Pro is a great choice. That said, by going a bit more flexible, or slightly thinner in the frame, the energy return might feel a bit lower. Troy, TW
