This solidified Roger's GOAT status. Older, physically compromised but ever the fighting genius. Roger csne back without competitive match play to fight through every match beating his greatest rival in the finals. An astounding journey for the Maestro 🎉

Wonderful. Enjoying this. Coming back from injury to beat Nadal was amazing. He had some great matches. Wasn’t easy. The rebirth of a legend. Here began the renaissance. And so began the atonement and retribution and burying the pain of defeats by Nadal. I cried with joy. This was redemption. Some exquisite achingly beautiful backhands. Not even Stan’s or Dominic’s or Richard’s backhands looked this beautiful.

Roger's most fantastic victory in my opinion!

@@RazOls definitely. It was beautiful. In the context of his career and his losses at the AO, specifically to Nadal in 2009. It was his first victory over Nadal in a slam final since 2007. I cried with joy. Such a beautiful tennis player.

If Novak had played here, Federer wouldnt have won this Slam, when was the last time in those last 12 Slams that you cite that Federer won Novak, it was Wimbledon 2012? probably more, but give me a break dude, the only one who stop Djokovic at slams was Rafa

@@carlosm9364 Novak did play here. It isn't Roger's fault that he lost early. And I still maintain the fact that even if they met, with Roger's form, Fed would have won their match.

Pure art brimming with unwavering mentality. That’s what have greatly been a strength that sees Roger prevailing many times in deciding moments. Raz deserves more than credit for presenting us this treasury.

Early 2017 was the best Federer ever. Because of the backhand mostly. Plus RF was hungry again. And finally figured out how to play Nadal, to be aggressive on the backhand with Rafa.

I had the privilege to watch (and suffer) the match against Nishikori. I became a great fan of him since that tortuous Madrid 2014 semifinal match against Ferrer, and his unbelievable U.S. Open 2014 run, however, I had support Federer this time. I suffered both 2014 and 2015 Wimbledon finals losses against Djokovic, and also U.S. Open 2015 final, so I kinda lost the faith, and after such a long match against Nishikori I thought Roger wasted too much energy to keep that level... thanks to the universe I was wrong :DDD

My god has anyone played more beautiful than Roger? Just watching the artistry and elegance along with sheer power. Now we have just a lot of grinders. The game has degraded so much since Roger retired. His game will never be copied. Honored to be alive to witness it. Only one GOAT and it's Fed.
