He is the greatest tennis player of our time and we may never see Roger Federer play another Australian Open Grand Slam in Melbourne after he held the 2017 trophy aloft.
But then again its Roger Federer.
He departed Melbourne Monday night with the entire airport left in awe as they clapped him through immigration.
The Swiss Maestro, his wife Mirka and their kids boarded their Emirates flight to Dubai with so much luggage they required 3 Kia vans.
Roger was reticent to risk the crowd adulation so he left his wife to check in ahead of time whilst he waited in the car surrounded by Australian Open security and Melbourne Airport officials.
The crowd patiently waited some 15 minutes for him to exit his van.
And it was a sight to behold.
The world's best tennis player escorted through the throng of people, EVERYBODY eager to catch a glimpse of the man they call Roger.
