also could you install the SHORT PLATE STORAGE POSTS - MONSTER LITE vertically on the bottom rear holes of the rack? so instead of them sticking out horizontally on the uprights, they could serve as storage and weigh down the rack simultaneously???
Hey Chris, I was just wondering whenever you disassemble and reassemble your stand, is there any damage to the areas in the metal around the holes where nuts and bolts go? I’m asking because I have an SML-2 that I’d be moving to another location. Would constant disassembly (retightening of screws and nuts) have any negative impact on the integrity of the rack itself?
Hey JT, I don't think so. I've diassembled and reassembled twice and there were no problems. Although, that was when the rack was brand new so I can't say for 100%. Unless you're doing it a LOT, I don't think there would be a problem, but definitely contact Rogue if you really want to make sure :D
Rogue sells a Rogue Monster Lite Socket Pull-Up Bar. Am I able to purchase that and put it on the SML-1 70"? That way I could put plate holders on the Squat Stand itself as there would be a pull-up bar to help support it?
I already have another pullup bar but I wonder if adding a cross member across the top would improve rigidity even more. I don't see how that would make it unsafe as long as you weren't actually hanging on it right?
Hey there, I’m sure you could add a crossmember to add stability. It wouldn’t hurt, but I don’t recommend anything that Rogue doesn’t recommend. Like you said, don’t hang on it 👍🏽
Lucefied , I bought a 5/8” x 6 ft. steel threaded rod at Home Depot along with four washers and four 5/8” nuts and attached the threaded rod to the towers and snugged the nuts tight on both the inside and outside of the towers. I made sure that the towers were plum and adjusted the nuts as needed. I hacksawed the excess threaded rod off the one end of the threaded rod. The threaded rod ended up being 51” long after removing excess length. There’s no flexing of the towers. Whenever I’ve moved the squat stand I removed the safety spotter arms and then overhead pressed the threaded rod and walked the entire squat rack to wherever I wanted it to be positioned. It’s a very inexpensive way to strengthen the rigidity of the squat rack if you so desire.
Yes you can, whether it be from amazon or Rogue, although, you may have to contact Rogue on which exact one fits. I think their newest one is only for the monster racks, not monster lite, so double check with them :D
Incline bench can be prevented by a squat stand not being deep enough and a bench being too long to fit and allow incline. So it can be prevented by a squat stand. Scoffing at viewers willing to ask you for advice seems like a great way to build viewership though so you do you.
