The best part of this video starts at 9:40 I don't play this game, and am not what you would consider a gamer, but some of these videos are superb. Your voice, Frankie, is perfect. Your phrasing and the way you deliver those pensive, "He's dead," declarations after a pause. So entertaining! Now only if these were more "Real" looking. I'd almost rather watch this than movies and television. You're like a Jason Borne that can't die...oh wait that's James Bond isn't it.
It's not a coincidence. One video takes about a month to make. He heavily edits the videos, takes footage from several play sessions, uses actors sometimes and edits the clips together etc.. IT IS a story he tries to tell you every time.

I commented this awhile back and got alot of interesting responses but how would people feel if Dice did a survival game? The feeling character feel and gameplay feel of Battlefield except as a survival game like DayZ. I have contemplated the idea for quite some time.
I would be very interested if it was an urban based zombie survival with some surrounding jungle-esq forests with BF graphics. I would buy it without a doubt if it had solid gameplay.

I have never been really good at this game, I am wayyyyy to impatient. What usually happens is- 1. I spawn somewhere completely unknown to me. 2. I go to a building and get attacked by zombies. 3. I spend like an hour running away from zombies until a player kills me.
I hate what DayZ has become. I miss the old DayZ so much. The original mod servers are still there but no one plays them. I remember first time I played DayZ, I met a player with a Lee Enfield and I had a cz. I traveled to the NWAF with the guy. We met 4 players there and we eventually gathered more friendlys. We came across a damaged huey (and I mean damaged) and worked for about 4 hours trying to gather parts for it. The heuy got shot down by a DMR and we all died. Then I had to start all over. With these new mods no one is friendly and when you respawn, you respawn with a glock or something and you go back to be shot. People build bases and camp the shit out of them, not in a way where you would get shot if you where armed and 50 meters away and they were defending, but in the way where they are looking for people 500 meters out who only have a Enfield with one mag walking the other way. To be completely honest, frankie, I love your videos to death, but you, nor any youtuber, should have never uploaded a DayZ video. DayZ was so much better when only the Arma community knew about it. I will be playing Wasteland and have people ask, "where are the zombies?" People buy Arma II just to play DayZ because they saw it on RU-vid. Those are the people who Ruin DayZ for me. People who buy the game just to play DayZ, and kill players with loot with the pistol they spawned with. Even the newer mod servers, the ones with the most people are spawn with guns and/or 1000+ vehicles. You see, people play DayZ to spawn with guns and get in there to kill players and get that ATV they spawned next to. Even the servers/mods themselves are made for PVP. Then when the standalone was released, all those players move too that and make the game, which is a buggy yet polished remake of the mod with some new items and features, becomes call of duty with huge maps and leveling up with guns replaced with finding them. I know DayZ had bandits before this, but those were just a couple of assholes. DayZ now, it's just natural to kill on sight.
If the mod hadnt been given the publicity it had, there would be no standalone. The player-base wouldve died out in a few months. Its people like Frankie that inspire people to play the game as heroes, not bandits. He helps the bambi's become better players. I used to have no idea how to use sniper scopes properly before I watched his videos. Now I can pick off most players at 700-1000 meters with an SVD and no rangefinder. I dont think youre blaming Frankie for people being dicks. I do want to point something out though. If the zombie apocalypse really did happen, do you really think the majority of people would help others? I personally think that the shoot-on-sight players (and not all are bandits) make the game more realistic. The fact that heroes are a minority feels more real to me. Now, I agree that bases have become a pain in the ass. Added to that is the fact that they are indestructible on most servers. But they are a necessary evil. You would build a base in a real apocalypse. Plus, in epoch, you need a way to stash money. Something i believe to counteract this is the fact that you can play on servers with destructible bases. You generally dont play DayZ completely alone, either. You find a friendly and work together. If someone is trying to camp their base to get kills, work with them to overcome their defenses and shoot the camper in their big stupid head. As for the 1000+ vehicle servers, dont play on them. I usually only see 500+ or less on the populated servers anyway. Consider the face that Chernarus is a HUGE map with MANY cities. You think all the people who lived there rode bikes? No. They probably had shitty little cars and trucks like the ones you find in the game. As for the military vehicles; The military wouldve tried fighting back. There would be many military vehicles. Hell, im surprised there arent tanks and jets. Also, on good servers, those vehicles spawn broken in some way. The way they should. All Im saying is this. If you want to have fun, find the server that works best for YOU. There is one, i promise. Its populated by people like you as well. Personally, I play a hero. But, much like a real apocalypse, I get tired of helping people only for them to turn out to be dicks. So I become wary. I dont shoot on sight. But, if I see some idiot running around Elektro with an m107 shooting zombies, Ill be damned if I dont blow his brains out. (This happened days ago) As far as the fact that people buy Arma 2 OA to play DayZ; Arma 2 wasnt popular before DayZ. Its a ridiculously glitchy game with with AI that are in most cases, incredibly accurate. More so than they should be. I bought Arma 2 OA for DayZ, had trouble getting DayZ to work, and played the real game for a while. I enjoyed it. After years of playing games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, it wasnt a pleasant change. The realism was welcome. But, I dont play it much at all anymore. Dont blame people for buying an unpopular game to play a very popular mod of the game. Its silly. TL;DR: Bases, vehicle rates, and Bandits are realistic. Frankie inspires people to be heroes. Arma 2 is unpopular, DayZ is popular. Play the way you want. Find a server that plays the way you want. Dont blame humans for being human.
Look how much fun he has... When i get on dayz i dont know where to go, get chased by zombies all day and die of thirst after a longggg time of just running around hoping to bump into some buildings
frankie, i believe your ending is wrong, he didnt live happily ever after in the kill house, one of sadas guys betrayed the rest of them and helped rush escape c;
at the end you should have done the thing they do at the end of true story movies like dolphin tale and lone survivor and be like, "Rush got his castle, and went to get help for his stockholm." Then show a picture of Rush and say "HE now lives happily in his castle, where he cannot be kidnapped again, and gets visits regularly from his liberators."
It felt like we were actually sitting around a campfire with Frankie listening to him tell stories of the early days of the apocalypse as we continue fighting to survive. So much fun.
I'm betting most of us don't actually have 4k monitors so we cant see exactly how clear stuff far away is but I'm willing to bet it helps alot in a tactical shooter like this where seeing stuff around you means everything.
No one here really has a 4k monitor, including frankie. He upscales the video from 1920x1080 (1080p) to 4k so he can use a higher bitrate, i.e less pixelation / squariness.
screwloose455 Well thats a bit of an understatement.. A 4K is 600$ and we are talking a really good one. It's the refresh rate being way too low still on those to be a good choice to buy but if you play SP games they will looks astonishing.

Frankie may not be the most popular guy on RU-vid but he sure as hell is better than PewDiePie in my opinion. He's much more immersed with his fanbase and is extremely talented in making videos. Take the intro to "Running Scared" or a variety of other videos, he always makes amazing intros and most of the time the entire video is amazing. Frankie, the only reason I wanted to get a pc to play dayz which lead onto over 15k hours on games and some of the best memories I’ll have with my friends and it’s all thanks to you Frankie :D

Frankie is the reason I dropped coin on a custom PC, I started watching these back in '10 when I was living in California with no means of gaming available. Now I have a sweet set up and hold my breath every time I come across someone who isn't in bandit gear in hopes it's Frankie lol

If you watch PsiSyndicates videos you would know Rush wasn't getting saved by Frankie, he was getting kidnapped, also Rush doesn't live long after all this, he escapes in a little bird then dies by a M60. :P
