It’s always nice when different folks you watch all the time big each other up! Very cool of you Nick- and sweet demo! The Touché is SO much fun to groove with! 🎶
Adding in that sync oscillator, whew! It was like you were pointing it at an amp stack like a guitar to get feedback. I really hope that the SE-02 does well, so Roland might continue with this avenue of design, and I also hope the Touche finds enough fans to keep it going, because I need one now, but can't justify it. Yet.
Nice. Got to play with the Touche a bit at SuperBooth this spring, and I was hoping someone would give it a bit more exposure. Very cool product...especially coupled with the SE-02, which can better handle all the different controller variables the Touche can throw at it. Thanks...
Beautiful. I could have listened to a lot more of that. On a related if belated note, I wonder would Nick ever do a Korg Monologue video. Unless you did and I missed it. I'd love to see what you'd make of/with it. My first proper synth and loving it but I could do with more patch creation inspiration. And kinda half sorry I didn't wait for this, but then the Monologue is very special and cheap as flip, so no real regrets.
Is this as smooth sounding if you play the Expressive E over MIDI CC outs to the same parameters on the SE-02? This controller makes me drool, I'm wondering how smooth the CC output is please, if you don't mind checking :) This setup is ultra cool!
Don't slag it until you've tried it. It is NOT the same experience as using an iPad. It is made quite well and is very expressive. Are there other ways of controlling parameters? Sure. Will a vibrato pedal work on a guitar? Of course, but it is not the same thing as bending the strings. This gear does what it purports to do, does it well, is easily configurable, and will work with hardware or software. I don't work for the company or anything, but I use one, enjoy it quite a bit, and much prefer it in that role to a tablet or another controller. It is much more expressive. For me, it is worth the money, and I'd buy another tomorrow if it went missing.
Hi everyone! I don't play the keyboard, but if I were to input midi notes or import midi files to my DAW, could I manipulate them with the Touché SE after? Thank you all
it's hilarious how often people are whining about the cost of quality analog hardware in these comments. have fun with your software kids. you're missing the point.
L A Don't forget the good old Mod Wheel! Honestly though, the only alternative I can think of would be buying an iPad and using an app like TouchOSC. Although, that's not quite the same as having multi-dimensional control. I believe the new Seaboard blocks are less than this, and use a similar method of control.
Yeah you're right an ipad is more versatile also. There is no way I would consider this thing. €399.00 = $586.56 CAD then shipping, then they're taxes, then Canadian taxes and duty. Ha ha ha Who is buying this?
Lots of people are buying Touche, it's a really cool controller that, as Nick demonstrated, is capable of the kind of multi layered expressivity not common in most controllers. Are you really bad mouthing such a cool product based on your budget?
I'm not denying that it's a cool product or bad mouthing it. I have a problem with the price. This thing would cost me somewhere around $850-$900 after duty and taxes. Is it worth that price to you?
L A Yeah, you are definitely in a tough spot if that is really what it would cost you. It's always hard to justify any purchase once it hits a certain threshold, but I suppose it's all about what you will gain. I imagine since there are few options like it, the price stays relatively high, and the fact that it is a software/hardware combo.
