Such a great amp, I could noodle on it all day. I like low reverb on the neck pick up, volume rolled back. Really good on low out put pick ups guitars. I heard these amps were noisy, not been the case at all for me, even with my Strat.
le Jen Ta mate and thanks for watching. I do like the amp. It has fantastic clean tones and a really nice reverb and chorus. I like the fx loop feature too. Takes pedals well. It's great for home use and the perfect size really, not too big. Like all Roland products it's built really well. I think it's worth it.
how does it take distortion pedals? I have the cube, and on the clean channel when I use my boss hm-2 you can't discern picked notes at all, it has a serious headroom issue
Elliot Knight it takes pedals pretty well. My tc electronic dark matter sounded harsher through this amp than it does through my valve amps. Clean hifi stuff is great though.
@@brendangray with pedals you could get some good blues tones but you might prefer a peavey bandit, fender champion or tube amp such as supro blues king or bugera v5.
How do you find those 6 inch speakers? They seem to be a bit piddly & thin and the only possible weak link that puts me off getting this amp. For a 30 watt amp I can't understand why they decided to put 6 inch speakers in it. The 40 watt version would probably be too loud for home use and I can see the 6 inch speakers lacking in mid-low frequencies which is a bugger because I'd quite like to have a Roland Jazz Chorus.
The difference between 30 and 40 Watts is not a lot ...essentially the difference between the two models is the speaker size and overall enclosure size. But I would say the 22 guitar sound is perfect for recording with bass guitar .. That is to say it does not have a strong bass presence ...if you really want that then just get the 40 but it’s a bit bigger. However the 22 does sound sweet for what it does.
@@zazz63 The difference is what it used for recording..I cant se any close mic near by this amp. btw this amp have direct out as well in stereo which mean no DI Box is needed. Camera microphone always will sound like crap...
these amps are known for being LOUD and PUNCHY and clean as a whistle. Definitely don't need the bright switch turned on, which it appears was the case for this video.
Sorry for the late response! If you got one already then I guess you know! But for bedroom use I'd go for something smaller. Wicked amps though...just get one and sod the neighbors!
Hi mate, sold all this now but it was just this amp on the day with an Ibanez RT650 guitar, running into a few pedals, namely an EHX Deluxe Memory Man delay. I also used an TC Electronic Dark Matter Distortion pedal.
