How do you like the X? i Have been throwing around the idea of selling my old stuff and picking one up. The old stuff is cool its just an expensive chore to keep them running
I am seriously considering to purchase the jupiter x....and your videos are very supportive for ROLAND sales....are there any external accessories you recommend to buy...or do any come with it already?
OP- maybe an expression pedal of some kind- I had an XM for about 3 weeks and I have returned it for an X- just because of size, the xm is a little cramped and using a master midi controller is just one more set of cables to hook up. Plus, I don't have space to have my midi controller on my desk and the XM at the same time, so I opted to just go ahead and get the larger one. I don't travel, though, so the XM definitely has value. According to the literature for the X, which is simlar to the XM the Jupiter X has onboard speakers. Not performance grade or loud unless you are in a room (like the old 'harpiscord in the parlor' concerts in the 1700s) but its loud enough.
@@synthartist69 Not exactly. They are smaller than the onboard speakers on my Yamaha piano, but they are no slouch. They arent meant for performance, just monitoring. Nothing wrong with that. Headphone speakers are smaller.
As a guitar player who dabbles in synths, it’s kind of sad how time-stamped synths like the Jupiters, DX7’s, etc sound while guitar sounds get away with recycling the same wailing LP/Strat through Big Muff/TS9, etc and nobody says a word about how dated it sounds. Maybe because when new synth tech emerges everyone dumps previous generation stuff like it’s the worst equipment ever, and the period dating ‘problem’ is born. Thoughts?? Personally I LOVE the sound of old Jupiters, Prophets, and Moogs. But that’s just me I suppose. Great playing as always!!!
Well when you get down to it, a guitar is a vibrating string. If you stray too far from that, you're just using it as a controller for synths rather than using the sound of the guitar. With synths, you can do pretty much anything that's possible electronically and it's still a synth so there's a lot more room for development
I am about to release 128 patches for the Jupiter X user banks, primarly 80s rock/top 40 covers and many custom Jupiter 8 type patches along with split patches as heard in this video. The cost for the file will be 19.00. Keep your eyes open for the demo video coming soon. Thank you!
