Still have mine after all these years. Could never get rid of it. It has the best cutoff and resonance feature along with a wicked arpeggiator. I still use it from time to time.
thanks man! I ended up selling mine in the end because I wanted something I could load my own samples to but I'm yet to find something that I like enough. Maybe I'll get one again someday as they're so cheap haha
It was my first piece of gear, and the only one ive ever sold. I replaced it with a Yamaha RM1x. They go fr around $250US and you'd be best to get the OS upgrade ROM for around $25 US. A firmware upgraded RM1x can easily go up against most modern sequencers save high end shit like CIRKLON's n stuff. But, just as capable, if not more in some cases, as the brain for a DAWLESS set up and up there with Electron , Pollyend etc. new school style groove boxes, MC303 won't cut the mustard for a dawless rig. Good to have for the 909, 808 etc. kits tho
After so many years I'm now rediscovering these great boxes. They have one of the best step sequencers out there even compared to many more recent devices. I made a tutorial series on the MC-505 and I also have an MC-909 and now the 303 on its way. They all sound great, all different and all tons of fun!
@@harryvincent if you're handy with a soldering iron it's an easy, inexpensive fix! And there's another youtuber on here whose video I watched to give me an idea of what to expect.
Great vid mate. Check out Sam Nolan (snolan) he did a great demo too, around 10 years ago. Also Daydream sound, and Ratface. A great lil machine, sold mine, may get another!
MAN you went for hard mode! I love mine. Paid 90 quid for it. There are some people who get deep into these and make magic. The defult paterns are mostly awful. A couple of fun bits. The jungle one is a gigle.
never sell your mc303 i use only a mc303 for my tracks ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cLXOuVoS9ag.html after years of daws and expensive gear i am only using a mc303. I watch so many people with the latest gear just playing 4 beats to the bar drum patterns. these are the people laughing at the mc303.
How do you erase individual drum sounds? For instance if i mess up on some hats. I go in to Shift erase on the drum track and when I hit record im erasing everything. What if I want to just erase a hat or a snare?
Cant play the individual drum hits for some reason, the step sequencer works and rps set works. Sucks literally everything works on my unit aside FROM ACTUALLY PLAYING THE DRUM SAMPLE KMS
Haven’t looked into it enough to be sure, it looks like the new one has a nicer interface but it does seem like for the price difference getting one of these is probably a good bet
