How has my Roland TD-1KV Hi-Hat Pedal of 6½ years held up?
The pedal no longer registers/triggers 'hits'. The rubber actuator degrades and gets stiff and inflexible over time.
One can carefully slice small relief cuts along the top width of the rubber actuator. This does relieve the rubber enough to be flexible. It works, but is not a permanent or recommended/long-term solution.
The only permanent solution is to replace the rubber actuator every few years or when it no longer works.
