Roland VG-99 meets macOS Big Sur 

I'm not familiar with the SD-90 but the method should in theory work with any device -- if you're simply trying to access a 32-bit editor. The point with the VG-99 here is: 1) accessing audio over USB while; 2) accessing MIDI connectivity/Pitch-2-MIDI (DIN Ports) plus; 3) accessing the 32-bit editor on a 64bit only version of macOS via a VM. What's your plan for the SD-90?

You will be able to get the audio to work over USB in Monterey on Intel and M1 processors but only in class compliant mode. On an intel chip you may be able to get the advanced driver working for audio only - not MIDI. Use a 3rd party MIDI-to-USB interface for VG-99 MIDI I/O on any macOS after Mojave. As I mentioned in a more recent video, it is possible to load the windows version of the VG editor under codeweaver’s software running inside macOS which replaces the need for network MIDI. These days, I would only use a VM and network MIDI for the editor if absolutely necessary.

I haven't installed Ventura yet as I've heard of potential problems with audio unit validation. I suspect the same method as outlined here will work but be sure to not go above Crossover version 21.2. Higher versions break something that affects the way the software detects MIDI ports.

Try the CrossOver method.

Hey, the easiest way to maintain usability is to run a pre-Catalina operating system or Windows machine - if either of those are an option for you. If not, I know of no easier way.
