This is part 02 of Karaoke Project to record vocal on track 1 using microphone. Explained is the connections and adjustments to record mic signal mixed with effects either at the time of input to recording Or at the time of playback.
This is a gem. I've looked at a few instructional videos about my long-dormant VS and this is the clearest nd most to-the-point. Many thanks my friend - I hope you are still making great music..!
Hi Mukesh Curious if you could explain how you transferred to your computer? I'm considering buying one of these but I think it's tricky to connect yet you've done it. :-) Excellent video, thank you for posting!
+Marc Lemery In VS 1680, you connect the master output of the unit to the mic input of the computer by an aux stereo cable to record the signal via a sound recording computer software but I recommend you to buy their upgraded versions Roland VS 2000CD or 2400CD. The operation is very similar to VS1680 and this video will certainly help you get started. You will either be able to burn your recordings on the internal CD drive OR digitally via USB cable to a computer in form of a wav file.
thank you mukesh,i've got a vs1880 and able to record a karaoke backing in mp3 file onto track3 and my own voice onto track 1or ch 1 i then bounce them onto 17/18 after the volune & fx are added, but the i'm having trouble recording to a cd,can you walk me thru the master room to final recording please
mohuia paranihi Since my vs1680I didn't have cd writer, I recorded the master output to a computer in wav file. I have no idea about vs1880 since I never owned one but writing on cd should be straight forward process, please refer manual. Good Luck
I have to ask, was that entire song record on this machine??? BTW, thanks for the video. I just picked up a Roland VS-1880 yesterday at a garage sale for $60. It has both effect boards installed and everything seems to work. Your video is really helpful to get started. Thanks again....
Please view my other tutorials to get clear picture. They can be found in videos section of my channel. You are very lucky to get this wonderful machine in $60. Cheers
+mukesh soni Greetings, my friend. I am an "old school" music producer, working at a very, very low budget. Could you give me some guidance as how to acquire a reasonably priced CD burner for my VS-1680? Thank you.
+Taina Amayi I now have upgraded to Roland vs2000 due to data import and export issues. Operationally vs2000 is almost the same system with advantage of cd burner, computer connectivity and an external monitor with mouse. Way too easy to record music with a few extra dollars.
I recently acquired a VS 1680. Quite new to this. The internal Disk came with that was bustard so I tried two IDE laptop 2.5 HDDs (one after the other) fits perfectly but after boot up there is an error message " IDE UnFormat 8.4GB " Please help me to solve this. Thanks you!
izziOnBass Sorry, I now use Vs 2000. Probably you may need to format your hard drive then install Roland operating system downloaded from their site. Haven't come across this problem.
Thank you very much I managed to solve the problem. Now the board works well. But says NO effects processors installed. How do you know if it has cards installed or not? What is the visual inspection?. Thank you very much.
