Released in 2000, the Roland XV-5080 stepped onto the scene, leaving a mighty footprint. Described for years as “Roland's ultimate sound module,” the XV-5080 boasted immense PCM-based multitimbral synthesis power, sophisticated modulation, an array of pro-quality DSP effects, and compatibility with the popular SRX Expansion Board series.

Honestly the best sounding synth VST imo, it is just so warm and silky sounding. No need to add any saturation, it is perfect.

This really reminds me of the mid-'90s when I was trying to find a very good wavetable soundcard. I ended up getting an AWE-32, AWE-64G, and a Gravis Ultrasound ACE. However, before I settled with that setup, I had run through Turtle Beach, Advanced Gravis Ultrasound MAX, the wonderful Ensoniq Soundscape 2000, and Ensoniq Soundscape Elite. I wish I had kept the Elite because it had the best sounds out of all of the soundcards during that period. That Ensoniq Soundscape Elite had sounds that were processed in the pre-sets and it had wonderful sounds that seemed equivalent to the XV-5080. BTW, when I first bought the Soundscape 2000, it was at a store called Media Play in Tulsa, Ok. That day Hanson was playing and promoting their music. I went back a week later to return the Ensoniq S-2000 because it was for the Matsushita CD-ROM interface only and I was working with an NEC desktop tower that didn't like the setup. FWIW, I ended up using Cakewalk Express MIDI sequencer software. I sure wish I had that software now.

I subscribed to roland cloud about 4 months ago and just the Juno and Jupiter and SH-2 are worth it imo but the modules are growing on me big time.. the srx world is a beautiful sounding softsynth as well..

Achei torrent Roland XV-5080, baixei, quando efetuo a instalação ele não aparece no plugins disponíveis do nuendo, mesmo eu atualizando plugins dentro do nuendo. Procuro tb o atalho de aplicativo para abrir sem ser com nuendo e nada. Pode me explicar como efetuar a instalação ?

Así es Roland es fantástico tengo un módulo jv 2080 y es insuperable sonido fuerte cristalino con Dinamita los teclados de hoy cuándo sumas 7 o más vistas ya no se sabe que estamos escuchando este módulo viejo cómo es se define perfectamente cada instrumento tengo teclados modernos pero no lo puedo comparar porque ese es el problema que tiene no se entiende qué está sonando está todo muy comprimido saludo desde la Pampa

Nobody demos ever the unique capability of the JV-1080/2080/5080/XP-50/60/80 to route sounds through dual filter and ring modulator! There is only one patch which makes use of it and it is amazing, it is called, as I remember, Tortured and I used it on almost all of my modern-metal songs because it can be subtle but also grow into a beast! Try it out!

The wonderful thing about Synthesizers is the sounds themselves inspire new songs ideas which is different than just writing with an acoustic guitar ect...I do often get stuck in a rut for new ideas with my guitar even with it being the instrument I am most developed on. My piano skills are pretty basic but I really want to improve and Synths are so inspiring; with a plethora of very beautiful sounds in your reach.

It sounds exactly the same as the other cloud srx boards , which all have the standard xv 5080 rom , and synthesis engine > This is just a new gui face plate , trust me on this one I compared the vintage keys cloud to the integra internal pcm engine ( which is basically an xv5080 engine ) and it sounds exactly the same ( including filters etc..) , which proves that the orignal cloud jv1080 was not a jv1080 emulation but an xv5080 emu . So this xv5080 is just another gui faceplate slapped on with the exact same engine as their previous offerings , the only difference is the loaded rom boards ( orchestrall etc... ) , but no matter what they all have the standard xv5080 rom whihch are 896 presets and 1083 waveforms I

Parquets (Tsugumi Kataoka) has started to use this in the early 2000s after Roland JV-1080! 80s/90s synthesis are heavenly pure gold as my classic favorite. Also a classic keyboard from Heaven!

I have xv-5080 . Using it since 2001. Tried this just yesterday with Goliath audio audio interface. As of now : Differences varies on every different program. Some slight while some really noticeable. However, some ( a few) of them are better than the hardware. But anyway, optional routes depend on your audio plugins and your ability of using them. You can reach up to a better quality with limitless computer tech opportunities. Anyways, the main fact is that no standard ear will know or understand these things but only pro ears. :)))) More importantly, I never expect a full similarity between a software and a hardware. So does it worth to buy?...For sure yes. At least I have it digitally on my DAW where I can modify, record, edit, automate and save very comfortably. Besides that, I can take it on my traveling laptop with me without thinking about logistics issues.Later, I can change software with hardware sound where applicable or necessary. Users who never used or been introduced to vintage Roland hardware, should answer the question by themselves considering their preferred music style. But logically speaking, it would be ridiculous to expect to have real-feel vintage machine such as Jupiter 8. Logically and technically no way. !!! Probably, you may see many comments about it everywhere..I always see it useless to do comparisons between softwares and hardwares , especially when the subject is those totally different technology vintage machines. Now I am a subscription user. Planning to buy perpetual licenses if I am satisfied with the results. However, I hope roland would realize the prices should a bit less for perpetual licenses. Let's see what is going on with my TR808, D-50 and JV-1080. As mentioned by so many users here and everywhere else, download manager software is kind of a trouble maker. This is the biggest problem that I face. Keep safe..

Patch Banks A B C of 5080 are from JV-1080. Bank D is from 2080, only the following patches of bank E F and G are XV exclusive and sadly not shown in this video. But Amazing video nevertheless!

Lo instalé en fl studio al roland xv5080 vst y se borraron todos los bancos y patches. Solo me quedó el banco de la percusión. Lo desinstalo y lo vuelvo a instalar y todo sigue igual. Cómo puedo solucionar esto? Te agradecería que me ayudes.

Eu uso ele pra caramba em qualquer projeto meu. Um dos VSTs que não podem faltar em meus arranjos, ele tem todos os sons do XP 80 e eu uso principalmente os timbres que o Mito do Novo Som usava muito como o Arquimedes (Um dia a mais versão Canta zona sul), o MidGrand (Meu Universo do ao vivo vol.2), o órgão Catedral (Herói dos heróis canta zona sul/ DVD Manaus) e o Phaze Clav 1 (inicio da música Bandido ou herói)

Tenho esse vst...mas meu sonho de consumo era ter esse rack, pq ele trás a sonoridade da linha XP e suas placas srjv...tenho fanton xr rack mas por incrível que pareça uso mais o jv1010...pra mim Roland parou no XP o que veio depois é mais do mesmo.

peso no timbre só com um interface de áudio das mais caras que tenha conversor de DA top e componentes no circuito do pre amplificador top acaba ficando mais caro que um modulo de som usado do equipamento mas pra quem tem o equipamento em estúdio compensa ter esse VST. Tenho uma focusrite saffire 6 ja da uma melhorada pois ela tem um pouco mais de peso se comparada as M-Audio ou behringer equivalente mas nunca soa como o hardware original.

Então, eu tenho o módulo, fiz uma comparação entre o Módulo e o VST e falta algumas coisas, não sei dizer, o peso é diferente assim como o brilho. Eu acho que as saídas de áudio desses módulos tinha alguma mágica da Roland, só pode. Gostei do VST mas infelizmente ainda não foi dessa vez que o usarei para substituir o módulo...sem falar que no VST não tem o Performance...mas tudo bem!

Tenho uma duvida sobre este Roland Cloud. Após adquirir e instalar esta Licensa Vitalicia para este software (XV5080) o mesmo vai requerer sempre o acesso via internet antes de iniciar o programa ? Responde para nós Aeh na oportunidade !

Vi que o Fantom FA-76 (de 2002) tem o mesmo motor sonoro do roland xv5080. Compensa eu trocar um Juno G num FA-76?

Amazing sound and so close 99% to the real thing! excellent demo and playing! I wanted to ask if you can send program change to XV-5080 (RC) from a MIDI controller or your DAW? I heard that Roland Cloud instruments don't react to MIDI ProgCh. msgs. unlike Korg's emulations (M1, Triton, WaveStation etc) Yamaha and others, which can do it.

Unfortunately, you can't use Program Change with Roland Cloud plugins, which is a stupid design choice IMO. However, if you use REAPER, you can save the plugin's state as a patch in REAPER, and link MIDI Program Change messages with that. I think most other DAWs can do that too.

Na verdade não testei nem 10% do VST,eu tenho o módulo físico do XV5080 e posso dizer a vocês que ele é o mais top da série Roland, só perde para o íntegra 7

Uso Windows 7 Profissional 64bits. Achei torrent Roland XV-5080, baixei, quando efetuo a instalação ele não aparece no plugins disponíveis do nuendo, mesmo eu atualizando plugins dentro do nuendo. Procuro tb o atalho de aplicativo para abrir sem ser com nuendo e nada. Pode me explicar como efetuar a instalação ?
