Honestly, I think the 36 looks better on your wrist. It looks like a more elegant watch you are wearing rather than something your wrist is being overpowered by.
I guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Kaysen Emanuel thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
That 36mm is what I’m working towards. Although I’d go with the presidential bracelet with a fluted bezel. I have small flat 6 inch wrists. This would be ideal.
It's a generational thing I grew up in a world where men wore watches sized between 32 mm and 35 mm and women wore watches that were more like 18 to 22 mm. Some older men still wire the 28 mm and 30 mm they wore in WW2. To me the 36 mm looks better on most wrists.
Also the 40mm has a much more sophisticated movement with some great innovations and ten year service intervals. The 36mm version still uses the wonderful but older movement with 5 year service intervals. Having seen the green in person I think it’s one of the best dials Rolex have ever done and I totally agree with you about the difference in Roman numerals, the ones on the 40mm catch the light like the indices do on my Grand Seiko, it really sparkles!
You're well spoken and the content of your reviews is great. One thing: you've got to ignore haters and ignorant chump who leave rubbish comments. Cheers!
Kajemyster more like 36mm for 70 years old plus men and or woman, 40mm is a choice made by rolex recommended for the new era of men. But thats my opinion
Cool and thanks... I didn't notice the differents on the Roman Numerals from the 36mm to the 40mm... And the 40mm Roman Numerals do look better... I would like to See a 40mm Day-Date with a Meteorite Dial and Green Roman Numerals in Yellow 18k Gold or Rose 18k Gold
I pretty much always click like at "Hi" on your vids man. As for these watches, even out of these particular 2, I'd take the 36, it's just too beautiful. I personally have a 39mm Expy and a 116200, and although the 39mm has more wrist realestate, to me the 36mm has greater wrist presence on my 6.9" wrist. Each to their own I guess :-)
Thank you very much for a great comparison review on the Day-Date 36 vs 40. They are both great time pieces, I like the 40. I am looking forward to more of your reviews.
Love review as been looking for video to see if 40 and 36 is same now I now cases are different also love watch your wearing on really nice red strap can tell me what watch and strap are
I have always been afraid of having a rotation between a 36mm and a 40mm watch because it would “fuck” with my head and make the 40mm watch look a lot bigger when I wear my 36mm and vice versa. Am I the only one with this problem?
Great video but it isn’t the “presidential” bracelet, but the “president” bracelet, right? And in my opinion, the most beautiful bracelet on any watch.
40mm pops out more on any wrist because of the massive size and 36mm is more discreet and subtle still noticed but doesn’t have a statement effect like the 40mm. Don’t let anyone’s opinion influence your purchase decision if you want something that pops and depending on the size of your wrist the 40mm is always the better choice it’ll definitely make a statement and draw more attention to you. The 36mm will not get as much attention because it doesn’t pop out as much and definitely not an attention seeker but if you’re wearing a Rolex it’s definitely going to be noticed. Those are things to consider when buying a watch, are you the type that like to stand out 40mm is the one. If you’re the type who likes wearing a nice watch for personal enjoyment without the unnecessary attention you’ll bring to yourself that could potentially make you a target for robbers 36mm is your best choice. Although 36mm is smaller than 40mm depending on your wrist size and physical proportions the 36mm can look really big and if you were to instead wear a 40mm just because some idiot told you 36mm is too small, it would look like you are carrying a coffin ⚰️ on your wrist which would make you look hideous and defeat the whole purpose of enhancing your look with a nice luxury watch. Really do your research and see which size fits best for you. I personally wear anything from 31mm to 44mm. My sweet spot is between 38mm and 40mm. I wear smaller watches when I don’t want to draw much attention to myself and 40mm and above when I’m going somewhere fancy but I’m mindful of the extra attention I’ll be drawing to myself as well as the few compliments I’ll receive along the way. Ladies will nice watch you to death to start a conversation with you when you wear a 40mm Rolex watch just because it looks nice, big and expensive but could be the same price or cheaper than a 38mm but the ladies love a winner so if your goal is to get the ladies that’s definitely a plus you’ll get wearing a bigger watch it comes with the assumption you spent heavy on it. My first rule with fashion or watch wearing is confidence the size of the watch matter but it’s second to the confidence you wear it with, the watch and the clothes only compliment who you already are, so go with what works for you. If you’re a watch collector you’ll definitely have different size watches in your collection for different occasion anyway or just because of something cool about it. Last, everyone is entitled to their opinions but let whatever decision you come to be a product of your own conclusion.
I agree with everything you said. One thing I would add. If you like to wear your watch on a rubber strap, go with bigger size. If you want to look more classy go with a smaller watch on metal bracelet. That being said, my choice is 36mm. And I would go for platinum instead of gold.
The 40 is my favorite my Rolex's its beautiful, but it's scary to wear every day I'm always worried about it being hit by everything around me and your videos are very informative, well done.
Reference 118205. It was a smooth bezel Oyster bracelet version of the DD as seen here, quite rare, and discontinued for years now. Was made between 2000 and 2010 or so if I recall.
No way: the 36mm on your wrist looks WAY BETTER! You should embrace it rather than try to be like a rapper and wear something ill-fitting. The 40mm makes you look like a little child. To each their own I suppose. Stay blessed.
Hello, i want to buy watch that looks like this but not that expensive. i searched watches with that type of bracelet but can't find any or if i do they are ugly.. Any ideas for a nice watch?
good vid ive got the day date 2 yellow18k 2014 and gold blue 18k sub 2017 luv both the sub seems heavier on wrist my previous 1803 18038 118038 in 36 mm and i wud never go back small 36 mm the d date 2 is now pre owned priced up high as discontinued and more collectable wish u cud do a sea dweller 40 43 review i got both models but prefer 40
Well with the flat bezel the 36 looks kinda weird.. if you compare both sizes with fluted bezel its very hard for me... proportion wise I like the bezel of the 36 because it is a bit thinner relativly to the watch size than on the 40... I kinda prefer that.. the bezel on the 40 looks chunky.. but then again I have only seen it on pictures so maybe it feels very diffrent in reality... I love the green dial a lot but to me a Day Date has to be in yellow gold... the green suits the everose much more... CONFLICTED MUCH ._. anyway I enjoy your videos :)
Happy with my bp explorer an so so over the top 4k more . Some are not worth buying in gen . Had a sub 1680 an can buy gen movement for 1k drop it in got a good watch . Made with 904l an the last 3 yrs the clones are shit hot
you have described very smart as i am rolex day date rosegold watch excellent feeling i wear it my request is how to maintain imean self cleaning proces and meterial next vedio please.
jubilee isn't feminine , but President / Oyster bracelet gives a More sporty/manly and sturdy looking . if we want a more sturdy , all occasions wear (dress up or down , formal or informal) , get a President/ oyster bracelet. if purely wearing for dress and formal attire purposes, Jubilee is fine.
I wish they kept the 40 bracelet the same as the 36 near the lugs and it would be perfect IMO. Funny that everyone thinks they have wrists like the rock or something, I saw a women the other day that was damn near a skeleton with a 40 on...
if you have a woman's size wrist ( yeah I said it ) then the 36mm will look good on your wrist, but most MEN have a larger 7plus'' wrist, the 40 is perfect then..
These two watches are actually very different, so different i would gladly wear both. But my heart is more with white gold or platinum. And that glacier blue dial they are using on their platinum watches is absolutely fantastic.
