if you bought this from the AD they owe you a steel daytona or gmt. don't let them shortchange you 1 30k gold watch earns a rare steel sports I've got both the ceramic and pre ceramic daytonas over the years after buying a gold sub and rose gold gmt
My favorite all gold Rolex 👍🏼. I’m currently looking for a two tone silver serti dial Sub. Always loved that watch. There a lot of them out there but I just need to hunt down the right one.
I own this watch too even though I have many but the weight for this is just perfect and my wrist is addicted to it. Wear it with absolutely everything and everywhere even at pool and beach.. Cant wear anything else and I catch my self looking at the watch subconsciously even when I know the time🤣🤣
nice camerawork, good video. I bought the sub blue solid gold after saving up for it for a long time. I love it. Wear it quite often, but I just love to even look at it to be honest. was always my dream watch. (I got it for £24,000 when list was £26,500 - price in the UK now is £28,650 and another price rise is due in 6-9 months taking it up to £30,000 (so an AD told me last week)). You can get deals on the gold rolex, but all this overpaying for the stainless steel ones sports rolex is just stupid, ive seen steel daytonas on ebay for not much less than I got the solid gold blue submariner. madness IMO. thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I just purchased this watch and I,ve been told not to show it because people would hate on me for this. Poor people mentality kills me Keep on rocking it
Do a state of the collection video. I actually checked this watch out at my AD a couple weeks back. Nice and hefty. Too rich for my blood though. Recently purchased the Pepsi from my AD. Love it so far. Hopefully I don’t get tired of it like all my past watches.
Nice watches! Love the channel! I'm in the market for a yellow gold Submariner Bluesey (126618LB). However, I'm also in the market for a yellow gold Day-Date 40 (228238). Can you please advise which bracelet would suffer from stretch the least? The presidential bracelet has the updated ceramic coated pin sleeves, which supposedly "eliminates" bracelet stretch. However, the Oyster bracelet with its solid links and solid glide-lock box clasp, screams more robustness and less chance of overall stretch?? Please advise. Thanks in advance. (You're the perfect person to ask, since you've owned both watches and WORE them!) 😃
Hey WatchDisplay , thoughts on the older 16618 Steel bezel gold sub. I can only find the older 16618 online. Not sure on the older clasp. As well the sunburst on the older seems to have a bit more life in it. Thoughts?
Canadian Canuck I prefer the modern gold sub in terms of bracelet and heft on the wrist. The six digit gold sub with sunburst dial has crazy life to it. You May have been looking at the six digit gold sub with smurf blue dial instead of sunburst.
I have an all stainless submariner, I would love an all gold one BUT I work as a facilities maintenance technician and my stainless sub has some love marks on it I don’t think I’d be comfortable wearing this every day.
Dammit what tell me what one to choose!!!? This one on vid all gold with blue.... OR all silver but blue dial..... OR the common silver and gold band with blue dial?. Which would u choose
WatchDisplay I keep watching videos lol and keep going for rather gold or the gold blue and silver I just don’t know >:( I already have a fully gold watch but then it’s not blue but then I also like the silver n gold. Plus do people think gold watches are always fake because it’s so called showing off ?
I already own a two tone bluesy, just wondering... is the diference between them in terms of WEIGHT big? I know gold is heavier... but cant imagine the feel of that rock of gold, thinking to jump up for the full gold...
Ma786sai The twin laser etched markings on both lug backs are a St Bernard dogs head with its tongue out and a D stamped in the center of its head. The second stamp is what appears to be a Lady with twin weighing scales. That’s what my D series 2004 gold Ref 16618 had, clear as ever under a powerful loupe. In fact my 2005 solid gold Daytona Ref 116528 diamond dot black dial sports the very same laser etched symbols. God bless Cyrus
way too flashy for me but they are really nice and available. Ever check out the green dial Daytona? That would be my dream gold watch if gold were my thing.
@@WatchDisplay Ahhh thats crazy, maybe you can source one from an AD at list, would be worth the wait! I guess that puts you back in the same hunt as with the steel watches, which you are trying to avoid.
I have been purchasing a lot of watches lately and I just purchased this one, my third gold Rolex and three months. I have purchased a ton of stainless steel sports Rolex lately (including a few non-sports)...all from an AD. Just wanted to mix things up a bit! My other two are the everose olive green dial 60th anniversary Day-Date and the yellow gold emerald green dial Daytona. Can't decide which gold watch I like best, my yellow gold Daytona or this one.
I up graded two years ago from two tone blue up to the full 18k yellow gold blue sunburst dial !the two tone just was an inbetweeners watch NOT in either camp ! now got total all steel or all gold ! no regrets ! luv gold but only wear it with care in UK and NOT round London ! ok ! stay safe ! !
Sweet. I agree, wear the watch, don't let it wear you. Own it. Awesome watch - go big, or go home! I'm tempted by one in a local AD, for the same reason - I'd rather pay retail for this, rather than dick on with stainless steel waiting lists. Nice review.
damachine3 yes brand new, still had the stickers on it. I didn’t purchase from the AD. I rarely buy my Watches from the AD. My ADs have never looked out for me therefore, I won’t put money in their pockets. My venders throughout the US source and get me excellent prices on pieces. I’d rather support them.
@@WatchDisplay Good man. Mine have been good to me so far but I know I'm not the norm. I got 10% off, which is about the most you will find from an AD on this watch. Many will not offer a discount at all on this watch. I figured 10% was a good enough discount to stick with them on this one since they have been so good to me on so many other hard to get pieces.
I just purchased the same watch I’ll wear it with a suit I’ll wear it with shorts you can dress down or dress up but I totally agree with you wear what you want what ever watch you like
@@WatchDisplay i just got my 41 2024 full gold had to get under retail from scottsdale luxuary watches in scotsdale az.Paid under reatil. The AD dont work with me. i wear it with whatever. GOLD IS BACK
1:59 You said you got tired of paying retail for stainless steel watches...but retail (through an AD) is the best price you will find on those. Guessing you meant over retail?
@@WatchDisplay Thanks for clarifying...and same here. The only gold one I paid full retail for is my yellow gold Daytona with the emerald green dial...but that's because it's arguably the hardest to get Rolex right now...even harder than the white Daytona or blue Sky-Dweller (both of which I was also able to get from an AD). The yellow gold Daytona is selling way above retail in the grey market (as long as it has the emerald green dial). So you didn't own it for very long. Hopefully you at least broke even!
damachine3 I used to love the green dial Daytona until it was overhyped by John mayor. I bought gold to get away from “the norm.” If my AD would have gotten me a green dial I would have def bought it but I also would have sold it.
@@WatchDisplay Yeah, I didn't even know about the John Mayer article when I bought it. Him hyping it was just serendipity for me since now it's worth so much more than I paid. That kind of ruins it for me, though, because now I think about selling it instead of just enjoying it. ;) I own three other Daytonas...all ceramic stainless steel (one black and two whites). I got them all from an AD so I suppose I could make a lot of money if I pared things down.
I cannot get myself to pay asking price for PM watches, especially Rolexes. The cost to materials ratio is ridiculous. Melt all that PM down and the hunk of metal is only a few thousand more expensive than the stainless steel version, yet more than double or even triple for a watch with the same design and movement. Just my take on it though, and why I would not pull the trigger on the white or yellow gold versions. I stuck with the two tone versions as the best of both worlds.
Rolex gold watches are a total ripoff. $40k for a watch that actually contains at best $10k of gold value. Rolex is a brand of no heurologic significance, it’s all just the 20th century marketing machine and hype. For the same $40k for this piece of garbage you could get a white gold Vacheron Constantine (big 3!) Patrimony for a dress watch and an Omega Seamaster 300M for a dive/daily wear watch and still have almost $20k left in your pocket (using current gray market prices). Screw Rolex and their marketing and market manipulation. Fools and their money are soon parted!
