I received this reference yesterday from an extremely loving and generous godparent. Almost can’t believe it’s mine and I’m looking through every video made on it! Absolutely a dream watch (birth year model for me). Getting it sized for my wrist today and can’t wait. Thanks for informing me more about this specific model! Can’t wait to enjoy forever
Yes it's really a very nice and comfortable daily wear watch, just got my 14060 tritium dial with matching tritium hands which comes with full set, if you like vintage, go for it, whenever you admire or rather appreciate the patina of the watch.....you will love it.
Nice honest example Cam, the 14060 has definitely gained traction over the past year or so, interestingly most newer collectors seem to chase later models with Swiss only or Swiss made dials and solid end links probably because they are even better as a daily wearer than the earlier 14060 with tritium and hollow end links but when it comes to future collectibility and possibly investment growth sign me up for that beautiful tritium version! Cheers mate, Jimmy.
Couldn't agree more, the swiss and swiss made examples are slightly softer in price point but they are still great watches especially if one is looking for an entry-level steel sports watch. I quite like the 14060 as opposed to the 14060M. Although there is something kind of cool about the 4 liners but that's on the cusp for me personally! Glad you enjoyed it, my man! I always appreciate the love and support!!
Another awesome review. Thanks. I own this exact reference and just love it. It's the perfect neo vintage no date sub at a fantastic price point without compromise. Although not COSC certified it can be calibrated to be, as the Explorer from the same era has the same calibre which is COSC rated. So it doesn't need to advertise it on the dial which makes it look cleaner and more military inspired. It's the perfect size for most wrists especially for smaller ones. Its so versatile you can wear it to the beach or boardroom. No problem fitting under a shirt cuff. It has the holes case to make it easy to strap out, changing it from dress watch to weekend beater. And you know the tritium will one day turn custard like other vintage subs. In the meantime you can wear it and enjoy ageing it yourself rather than getting a more expensive, pre-aged reference. Highly reccommend these older modern pieces over the chunky super cased subs with the uninteresting ceramic bezels and long wait lists
Yes this Sub is a perfect best of both worlds Rolex. I would say the 1460M super luminova COSC 2 line Subs are a little more pricey but closer to modern. The Sub date had all the upgrades. Solid endlinks, COSC, newer movement more practical w/the date complication. The ideal Sub would be something like a Kermit. Maxi dial COSC solid endlinks & solid center links. Hopefully we will see a smaller lug case ceramic Submariner with a longer power reserve. The best built Sub is yet to come.
Amazing ! The Rolex sub is the perfect watch to star a collection or just for one watch collection. I´m gonna try to find one 14060 from 1990, my birthday year. Thanks for the video.
Hi great review, I have three questions; how much accurate are? the watch is antimagnetic? you can dive with this watch? thanks. Im new in your channel and i like it. Congratulations.
All Rolex subs will have bidirectional bezels up until the 16800 and 14060. I don't personally mind them being bi-directional kind of reminds me that im wearing something vintage. And if the retaining spring under the bezel is adjusted properly they stay in place they don't have a tendency to loosely slide around, more of a technical upgrade by Rolex at the time as many other brands within the era were also using click springs :)
We do get them in quite frequently! Agreed that are a great watch and would also agree with you statement relating to the ref. 16610 being the last true sub!
