This was the soundtrack to our after school street hockey games we played as kids in the 70's with the AM transistor radio blaring away. In 1984 when we just became of legal drinking age and New Wave had taken over, BTO couldn't get arrested. They played a small club in North Vancouver. We got there early and got a table literally right up against the stage. We were being served beers by waitresses and our childhood musical heroes were playing right in front of us . Fred Turner put the microphone in our faces during "Taking care of business" and we sang out the lead vocal. In the table behind us was the entire band of Loverboy and BTO hung with them during a break. Best concert experience ever.

Got to meet Randy and he signed my Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt and signed my gloss photo of him. Really nice guy!! Saw Randy with Burton Cummings do a show last summer in St. Catherines, Ontario. Practically every song is an A+ to somebody. This one is probably A+ to many thousands of people. If A&A followed the logic of many comments here, they would have to rate practically every song A+. That'd make the song's hardcore fans happy, but wouldn't be useful to anyone else. If all movies were rated 5 stars, then ratings wouldn't help you decide what to see. A&A are knowledgeable about music, listen to each song closely, and think through their ratings. I like hearing what they think, whether I like their rating or not.

We saw Bob Seger open for BTO at Cobo Hall in Detroit in the Summer of 75. BTO was huge nationally, and Seger and the Silver Bullet Band were big in the Midwest only. For reference, "Live Bullet" was recorded at Cobo Hall in November of 75. Seger's opening set was blistering, and even earned an encore. BTO, the headliners, came out and were lethargic at best. After about 3 tunes, the Detroit crowd started chanting "Seger...Seger...Seger very loudly after BTO finished a song. After about 3 straight songs of this, an angry Randy Bachman and group left the stage, never to return. After about 20 minutes of confusion, and more chanting, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band hit the stage and smoked for an additional 2 hours! I also was privileged to be in attendance at Cobo Hall for those "Live Bullet" recordings.
