I swear, you've got me learning stuff I thought I was never going to figure out. Get some outdoor skates and do it on your driveway...or other smooth area in your neighborhood! Heck, do it in your kitchen or bathroom if they're big enough. You don't need a rink to skate. :) Just...don't forget a decent set of pads if you hit the outdoors.

I am amazed at how much my skating has improved by watching Dirty Debra Harry...She is simply awesome...NO ONE explains how to do what you want to do on skating as simple as she does. I try and watch ALL OF HER VIDEOS because I always learn something that makes me look like a pro on skates.

Great video!🤗 Can you make more different types of dance videos on skates. I really like to learn more for fun. I like to dance when i skate. Also for any other skating technique videos can you start to explain how your feet are moving inside the skates? For example are you on the balls of your feet, heels, side etc. That would be helpful.

Can't wait to try this tomorrow! The sad thing is, the summer hours are over so no more Wednesday afternoons or Friday mornings when my local rink is dead. We currently only have Friday nights, Saturday afternoons and Saturday nights now...until next month when they start having Sunday hours again. This whole Saturday night to Friday night is killing me. ALMOST hit the adult skate last night, but it's so late, and with work in the morning, the hubby didn't want to go. :( Going from 15+ hours a week to less than10 sucks. Especially since it's been too rainy to go outside the last 2 weeks. My feet have officially rejected shoes. LOL Walked in the local Pride parade last Saturday, my girls and I were very tempted to skate it, but sadly, there are bricks and old cobblestone along the route and I'm still re-learning how to skate over such surfaces so we all decided not to take our skates at the last minute. Oh well...maybe next year! :)
Love your teaching style, so concise and clear. Please I would love to see another video with you and IndyJamma Jones with you guys just skating on the rink and/or outside to see the comparison/difference in both your styles. Skating isn’t really a thing in 🇬🇧 so I cannot really do “people watching” to see others do their thing. Love you x

Sweetie, it sounds like you are saying sugar skates. It took me a long time to realize you are saying sure grip skates. I was actually googling sugar skates. Thanks again for another great video. Love ya girl 💙

Love your videos!! Can you make one on how to skate slow?? If that makes sense lol. Like when a slow song comes on a lot of people are skating backwards or forwards, but in a very slowed pace to the beat of the song and then there's people like me still going fast lmao

Long before the now generation starting calling this move the downtown I starting a movement in the 70's called Rollerdancing A Workout On Skates and in the original video the step they now call Downtown was called Long and today which is just of the 13 steps in my video #1. Long was not singled out as the premier step but it was the step that connected the dance. Now this move has been changed often and its only associated as The Downtown. . Please research me and you will see the originality. Oh yes there are now many variations all because of the cross front cross back move. This is the program that I have now taught for almost 40 years and it continues to this day.
