Roller Skating Footwork - Skate Forward - Cross Behind 

hahahha! I love it!

Mid life skater, you go for it! I just got back onto skates recently after 20 years break and had back surgery in late feb 2020 and refurbished 2 pairs of my vintage skates while I recoverred. A rink and a road pair. New lease on life with no pain. Deb you are an inspiration. I'm 48. I was an exceptional natural skater my whole young life. I thought I'd be a pro right off. Nup. Not bad, but I needed some refresher revision. I went to my local rink for my first session. By the second visit, I got to talking to people and made some new skate buddies. I also tried the beach cycleway near me. A bit too adventurous, but that will come with time and practice. Your outdoor skating vids helped a great deal. I think I still have fall and injury fear. I'm glad you address that. When I forget and listen to the music, I move really nicely. Please don't stop doing what you do! Totally love you!

Do you have a basement you can maybe skate a little in? Or kitchen?? Also, we recently tried ice skating for the first time at an ice rink in Illinois and it was so funnnn!!! If you can skate on roller skates you can skate on ice skates. We had to wear a mask the entire time but it was worth it!!

There are several rinks open in Michigan in Macomb, Wayne & Oakland Counties...or find a spot indoors where it's open like a basement or kitchen.

@@Osvaldohernanxez19737 nah. Last time I was in the hospital was when they put put in my first cast. The only thing that has happened since is getting a new cast that’s smaller and waterproof. I won’t be going back to the hospital, just the doctor where they do stuff for my leg.

Please watch my video in the "Gear" playlist. There is one there titled "Wheels" and it should help you out a lot. Note, the most important issue is the compatibility of the wheel compound versus the surface of the floor. Generally, if you are skating inside, you need to have harder wheels. Video I referenced will help you.

Yes! Just watch my crossovers video and my crosspulls video and you will see the difference.

All of my skate setups are detailed in the video description boxes. These skates were hand-painted by a friend of mine.

You KNOW if that were an option, I would be hosting on a daily basis. I am so over the government at this point....

Use this as a stride between other strides. Keep practicing though. You will build up enough leg strength and technique to build and maintain speed.

Do not worry about them touching at all. I will do an upcoming video on this as I keep getting this comment.

This move is not meant for gaining speed. It is more of a stylish stride and can actually be used to slow down a bit.

This is meant for in between other strides. It will take a while for you to actually gain speed while doing this cross behind. In the meantime, practice :)
