ROLLERCOASTER: THE MUSICAL has me wondering if Phineas and Ferb even care if their friends live

The biggest reason they decided to make this a musical is because the original roller coaster episode is the only one in PnF history without a song

To answer the question about parents never noticing what boys are doing: putting aside the running gag angle, Laurence does know and has contributed to their inventions in some episodes, he just tells them to be careful and writes it off as everyone else - them just expressing themselves in a creative way. As for Linda, it's never officially confirmed, but her VA does think that she knows and just pretends she doesn't

"They just luck their way through life, don't they?" Actually, yes. The show acknowledges that Phineas and Ferb are canonically surrounded by good luck.

The two Candace lookalikes were Candace from two different futures. I can't believe you noticed that and I didn't until you mentioned it. But you'd have to watch another episode to understand the context behind the two older Candaces.

"I wanna hear a Doofenshmirtz song." *Doof switches clothes and starts singing.* *Instant regrets*

His absolure hatred of the giant floating baby head is the funniest thing in this video.

In regards to the question about the dancers, Doof does hire them. In another episode, he was kidnapped by another villain and held in a lair in Seattle. When he wanted to do a musical number, the dancers showed up in the villain's lair and did it all there. The villain wondered how they got there, and Doof's response was: "They're union, they travel."

Phineas and Ferb is very self-ware and kinda meta. Its like, their whole thing. So if you ask "How can they do this?" the answer, in this case, is because thats what Musicals do (at least on TV).

The fun thing about "Carpe diem" is that the characters that appear in it are all the characters that appeared in the show up to this point! Thats why it looks so random to an outsider, but when you watched every episode you get every reference to the past adventures of the gang, its really heartwarming if you think about it

Phineas and Ferb have never tried hiding anything from their parents. Their dad even knows about a lot of it, he gets involved in a few episodes. It's just that the will of the universe decrees that their mother can never see what they make. That's not even a joke, that's a real thing. Doesn't matter what it is, something will.always take it away before their mother sees it. The boys would be excited to show their mother if she ever saw it, but the universe says no.

Phineas and ferb actually do tell their mom the studf they do sometimes and shes like "you guys have such great imaginations"

To be fair, Candace's hell is self-inflicted. Her brothers never hide anything, and no one gets hurt, and everyone, including her friends, has fun. And whenever she DOESN'T try and bust them and just goes with it, she always has a great time. She actively sabotages herself by trying her hardest to stop it rather than having fun.

Matthew really just needs to binge the whole franchise, cuz like a sht ton of his questions could be answered from them... And an even bigger sht ton of questions will spawn from it😂😂

You should watch the other Phineas and Ferb special Summer Belongs to You, it's also somewhat of a musical and is about them trying to go around the world in one day and it's one of the best episodes of the series.

To be fair, Doofs original goal was to rule the world, but after he went on a date with Phineas and Ferbs mom he decided to “start small, like with the try state area”. If you want answers to how doof and pnfs mom dated, watch “what do it do”. And yes, Charleen (doofs ex) is extremely loaded 😂

The whole ending number is probably just non canon because everyone is there which wouldn't make sense since Major Monogram (MM) and the parents are pretty much never involved in Phineas and Ferb's inventions, and if Perry is seen as Agent P and if the Flynn-Fletcher's (Phineas and Ferb's family) find out, Perry will be reassigned to a different host family

As a huge Phineas and Ferb fan, it is one hell of an experience to see someone who knows nothing about the show watch an episode that I know every line of for the first time

For note. The joke is entirely that Linda is oblivious to their actions. They will often just say what they did "wow sounds great honey" To the point that's its the formula for every episode

The fact that the kids do actually tell their mother what they do, she usually just responds with “that’s nice boys”

6:07, she’s that predictable. It’s actually a plot point in one episode that she tries to be less like herself because she thinks she’s become so predictable she’s boring

If you are interested, there is also an episode where phineas, ferb and candace try to figure out where everything the boys build disappear to. And an episode about the boy actually getting busted, the parents freaking out and sending them to a correction camp, losing all their creativity. But otherwise the parents just don't take them seriously when they say what they build

Just a quick clarifier: Phineas and Ferb are never out to torture Candace. They build things for their own amusement or for the amusement of their friends. Candace usually just gets dragged into it by accident or through her own actions. Sometimes also indirectly through the actions of Perry and Doofenshmirtz. But the important thing is that Phineas and Ferb most definitely don't torture Candace for fun. One of the things she sings about in the song (lava flow destroyed my face) was even done for her... (Context: As a birthday present for Candace, Phineas and Ferb made the family go visit Mt. Rushmore and while there, they carved Candace's head into the mountain together with the presidents. And Candace actually loved it. The lava flow happened as a consequence of Perry and Doofenshmirtz's fight in that episode and it returned the Mt. Rushmore back to its original appearance before mom could see it)

Apparently that last number must've been a celebration of the show so far because all those random people that look crazy, they appear in different episodes

In regards to the 2 people watching from behind the car when they leave the store, they are both Candace, from when there was time travel shenanigans. And the end ensemble cast are people/references to past episodes.

This show is incredibly formulaic. Virtually every episode begins with Phineas and Ferb under the tree, Phineas says I know what we're gonna do today, Linda leaves to do something or is otherwise occupied, Perry sneaks off to his underground lair and gets a mission from Major Monogram about stopping Doofenshmirtz, someone says "where's Perry?", Doofenshmirtz creates an "inator" to take over the tri-state area, explains some aspect of his tragic backstory, gets foiled by Perry or his own incompetence, and says "curse you Perry the Platapus", Doofenshmirts also always fails to recognize Perry if he ever takes off his hat, Isabella comes over and says "whatcha doin'?", Phineas often gets asked "arent you a little young to be ____?" to which he replies "Yes, yes I am", Cadance attempts and fails to call attention to whatever her brother's have done, some combination of Doofensmirtz, the universe, and random people that want whatever the boys have made manage to clear away everything the boys have done seconds before Candice can bust them for it, Perry comes back and someone says "Oh, there you are Perry", and Ferb typically has one line of spoken dialogue at some point, and there's usually a song at some point in the episode. They sometimes play around with the formula and do some clever things with it, but at least 95% of episodes follow this exact formula.

According to one of "Where's Pinky," the Tri-state Area just has a history of spontaneous musical numbers.

Two keys to P&F: There are non-canon parts where everyone is actors. In canon, the boys believe they have permission for everything

Music can determine how much I like an episode and this is one of my favorites

Mathew there are two things you need to do and know when watching Phineas and Ferb; "1: Turn off logic because it does not apply when it comes to Phineas and Ferb's adventures" and "2: Phineas and Ferb are oblivious they are making Candace look like she is crazy" P.S: Watch the show from the start to get the full context

Phineas and Ferb don't intentionally try to hide their inventions from their mom. They even tell her what they did in some episodes but she just thinks it's their imagination.

In regard to the whole torturing their sister thing, what usually happens in show is Candace trying to get the boys in trouble and getting injured along the way. The time she got dragged down the street, they were doing a race and her foot got caught behind a chariot. Nobody saw her until they were halfway down the street where they they let her on the chariot

As far as them lucking their way through life, that is actually a plot point in the spin off show Milo Murphey’s Law. That they generate a field where everything goes right for them.

I guess this confirms that the Giant Floating Baby Head is your sleep paralysis demon! 😂The cowboy part in the Hey Ferb song is a reference to the musical Oklahoma! The musical is based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs. Set in farm country outside the town of Claremore of what was then Indian Territory in 1906, it tells the story of farm girl Laurey Williams and her courtship by two rival suitors, cowboy Curly McLain and the sinister and frightening farmhand Jud Fry. The musical made its Broadway debut in 1943 and was revived several times in in 1951, 1979, 2002, and 2019! Candace's voice actress is Ashley Tisdale who has quite the singing experience, so it makes sense her character's songs are bangers! Isabella's voice actress Alyson Stoner is also a singer! And the engineer singing in the Aren't You a Little Young? song is the co-creator himself Dan Povenmire! That's his normal voice! He's also the voice of Doofenshmirtz!

Fun fact: The Giant Floating Baby Head™ is in just about every single episode of Phineas and Ferb! :D

IDK why, but my favourite episodes from this show (that I definitely recommend) are the wizard of oz one, the indiana jones one (where candace is actually just a reporter, mom is her boss, Phineas is an archeologist Candace tries to write an article about, yet fails to gain any photo evidence, and Perry is still an agent, but instead of a fedora wears a fez), and the medieval one which was just Carl reading a book to Mayor Monogram while he's sick in bed (Perry's a miniature dragon, Baljeet is an elf etc.).

13:26 to clear up the confusion, the reason why he's asking if he's too young is because that is a running joke on the show whenever an adult sees Phineas and Ferb doing something crazy Adult: "aren't you a little young to be [insert example here]?" Phineas: "yes. Yes we are" And the adults usually just take that as an answer and leave them alone. And 23:26 are future Cadence's from alternate timelines. In the time travel episode they went back in time to the first day of summer and the roller coaster episode, so them being there was an Easter egg from that episode And 24:22 is their alien friend Meep from another episode

Now you'll have to watch the first episode, then come back and watch this episode...you may be the first person in history to watch it this way

The guy that came into the last song to correct the dancing is the same choreographer that did the High School Musical movies. This episode was meant to be more self aware than some of the others, meaning that the characters knew they were characters in a musical. The cut away animations were meant to be like they were in a theatre with quick changes during the songs and the like. This is why them singing the song at the end didn't effect Linda (Candace's) mom the way it ought to have. Hope this helps shed some light on some of your questions. You should watch Night of the Living Pharmacists. It's an absolute classic. Idk if you've seen it before but it's got 2 parts to it and it's really good.

So basically the entire plot is held together with duct tape, rubber bands, a healthy dose of dumb luck, and perfectly timed ignorance from all parties involved. I can’t think of a single time the kids have ever done anything with the intent to harm or upset someon. Everything the boys do is fueled by wanting to make people happy, a need to create, and pure curiosity. They’re just two preteens who love to make things. The boys usually tell their mom what’s happening and she assumes that they’re exaggerating (they say they’re building a beach, she comes home to see a sandbox and kiddie pool). Anytime Candace gets hurt is pretty much only because she was trying to stop the boys/get them in trouble, and she just happened to get dragged into things by sheer luck or her own ignorance about the invention. If she played along with everyone else, or even minded her own business, she’d be fine. The things always disappear just in time due to Doof and Perry’s fights. The boys have never tried to hide stuff. The mom never sees simply because she’s too late. Their dad actually knows about a lot of this stuff, and sometimes becomes a part of it. On multiple occasions he’s brought it up to his wife, who misunderstands him, and says that she knows and it’s fine.

The biggest plot hole in the idea that the mom doesn't know what Phineas and Ferb are doing every day is simply the fact that basically the entire city's population DOES know, but apparently not one person has ever walked up to her to like, congratulate her for raising such spectacular kids, or ask if she taught them how to make all these machines, or contacted her about early college enrollments at Harvard for her genius sons. Also, the two people in the parking lot behind Candace and her mom were in face two Future versions of Candace from one of the episodes where time travel happened. Yeah that's right, I said "one of"

I always loved this episode. It was a great idea to celebrate the series with basically a remake of the first episode in musical format and with all the updated lore 😂

In the original (non-musical) version of the episode, when the ride rounds the first hill, Phineas asks “you all signed the waivers, right?”

In the original rollercoaster episode Phineas actually says to Ferb " We should have charged more." So yes they did make money off of the rollercoaster and according to Dan they invested their money wisely to be able to fund all of their summer adventures 😃

When Candace says that she's in charge conditionally, Phineas asks if the condition has anything to do with a mousse, like the hair conditioner. It took me forever to get that joke, and to this day is one of my favorite all time puns.

That's crazy that the two Candices are in the background of that episode from that time she decided to go back in time to bust them building the roller-coaster. I've never even seen anyone talk about that before crazy detail from Dan and Swampy

The really sad thing is that there is an episode where it's revealed the family has a panic room where Candace keeps a teddy bear that she can retreat to when she gets a panic attack. That implies to me that either Candace has a genuine anxiety disorder separate from what's going on or she got one from Phineas and Ferb's antics. In all fairness to the boys and to their mother, the boys have done all this stuff and no one has ever gotten hurt. In fact they tend to take a lot of precautions against it, but I think that it just doesn't occur to them that someone could get hurt because they've done these incredible things and it's never happened. In regards to the mother, Candace has told her dozens of times that Phineas and Ferb are doing x, y, and z, each story getting more and more outlandish. And to the mom's credit, each time she does try to come home as soon as she can to see what's going on. And each time she gets there, it's either gone or it looks like the boys were playing pretend or some other reasonable thing that makes sense for their age. So when the boys do say they did x, y, and z, she interprets it as their imaginations. So Candace looks like she's either trying to get them in trouble over nothing, or that she is wildly exaggerating the situation. Nobody's being malicious or negligent in this show, it's just a wildly outlandish set of circumstances that you have to see to believe, and the universe has decided that the mom will never see it

They do try to show their mom. One episode Phineas goes "hey, mom, look at these moon rocks we brought back" and their mom just goes "what active imaginations you have"

Can we all just appreciate how well Mathew's shirt goes with his hair? It literally looks amazing

At 23:30, those 2 girls in the background are both Candace's from the future. In one episode Phineas and Ferb fix a time machine and visit the future. Future Candance goes back to the first day of summer (the pilot episode) and successfully busts Phineas and Ferb by showing Linda the rollercoaster. Then she realizes in the future that the future is awful because A) Children are put in storage until they're adults. and B) Doofenschmirtz is Emperor of the world, and everyone is named Joe and wears the same outfit as Doofenschmirtz. So she goes back again and stops herself. The reason they both show up here, is because they're literally doing the first episode again, but as a musical. As such, it means Future Candace once again comes back and busts Phineas and Ferb, and then comes back a second time and stops herself again, all in musical form for this episode. However, that is never shown on screen. It's just implied.

The two women you noticed in the background of the parking lot when Candace and her mom were leaving the store were actually Candace from the future, both of them If you want to know how they got there and why there's two of them, watch the episode "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo" Yes, this show has some occasional time travel (which the sequel series Milo Murphy's Law expands upon a lot btw), also sometimes space travel and inter-dimensional travel, though space travel is probably the most common for them

Carpe Diem has a reference of every episode of the first and second season, that's why there's a bunch of people there.

To answer you about if the parent know or not, Lawrence is sometimes aware of what they're doing but is seemingly unaware 90% of the time and Linda is completely unaware of what they're doing because Doof (most of the time, occasionally it's other things) always accidentally make the invention disappear before Linda sees it. Why Lawrence doesn't tell Linda that Candace isn't making things up though I'm not sure. He's definitely seen enough of their inventions to be able to back up Candace and just doesn't and instead lets Linda believe their daughter is a liar

I'm convinced that theirs two versions of everyone in Phineas and Ferb, the uncanon where everyone is an actor and the canon where everyone just exists in Universe.
